12/12/12 — ONCE IN A MILLENNIUM
Today is December 12, 2012, or 12/12/12. Unless you expect to live until January 1, 2101, this is the last repeating date in our lifetime. So, how will you spend it?
With the number 12 signifying luck in certain Asian cultures, some pregnant mothers in Asia are planning C-Sections today so that their child will be born on the luckiest day of their lifetime. In Florida, lovers are gathering for the mass “Weddings In Paradise” event. Dozens of couples will tie the knot for $250 per person, or drop $500 if they want the nuptials to become official at exactly 12:12pm on 12/12/12.
But in New York City, some of the biggest names in entertainment will be gathering for 12/12/12 – A Concert for Sandy Relief. The Madison Square Garden event will feature Paul McCartney, Alicia Keys, Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band and others, with a a host of celebrity volunteers manning the phones to collect money for Hurricane Sandy victims. The concert will stream live on YouTube and Hulu and is for an extremely good cause.
