The new blockbuster film from Sony Pictures starring Jon Cusack, features a series of geological and astrological disasters which befall earth in 2012, supposedly based on Mayan calender theory. Film critics and some patrons say the movie, which spent a whopping $200. just to be made, should have put some of those millions toward a better script, which they call weak at best. Perhaps compelling dialogue was not given priority, since the real story and true star of the film is the stunning special effects. There’s destruction everywhere, from all walks of life and in every corner of the globe. And the film captures all of it with unprecedented technological expertise.
