Donald Trump has been impeached TWICE and as of late last week, he’s now been indicted TWICE. Here’s why this 2nd indictment could be the one that finally brings ‘The Donald’ to his knees once and for all!
Top News Today :
On Thursday, US prosecutors issued a 37-count indictment against Donald Trump related to his mishandling of classified documents that he took from The White House and stored in the basement of his Mar-a-Lago mansion in Florida. Although President Biden and former VP Mike Pence each admitted that they also (accidentally) took classified documents from The White House, the case against Trump is significantly different and decisively more severe. Here’s why.
President Biden and Mr. Pence each discovered the classified documents on their own and instantly reported them to government authorities. They also immediately returned every single document and fully cooperated with officials in their investigation.
In contrast, Donald Trump purposely “stole” the classified documents from The White House, believing he was entitled to them as somewhat of a souvenir from his time in the Oval Office. When government officials discovered the missing documents and demanded their return, Trump refused. Eventually and after months of negotiations with the government, Trump returned some but not all of the documents — until the FBI staged a raid on his home and uncovered boxes and boxes of highly classified documents loosely stored throughout Mar-a-Lago.
The now-unsealed 2nd indictment revealed that the highly secretive documents contained information about a covert US nuclear program as well as potential domestic vulnerabilities in the event of a foreign attack.
According to Reuters, Trump concealed the documents behind a toilet and in other obscure locations in an attempt to hide them and prevent the government from ever finding them.
“Wouldn’t it be better if we just told them we don’t have anything here?” Trump said to one of his attorneys, according to the 49-page indictment.
In the words of US prosecutors from the 2nd indictment, Trump’s hoarding of classified documents created an unfathomable risk to America’s national security, foreign relations, and intelligence gathering.
Now, the US Justice Department will proceed with a case against Donald Trump that is not about having classified documents in his possession (as did Biden and Pence). Instead, this indictment is a case of obstruction of justice and Trump’s absolute refusal to return the stolen documents and cooperate with authorities.
But wait, there’s a surprise twist.
When news of the 2nd indictment broke, Donald Trump and his legal team got busy preparing a defense that would have claimed he declassified all documents in his possession — and that the information the docs contained were not vital to national security.
Too bad that strategy didn’t last long.
According to CNN, federal prosecutors discovered a recording of Donald Trump and his braggadocious ego boasting about how he hoarded classified documents meant for the Pentagon and stored them in his home. Trump desperately wanted to show off his classified “prize” to others but admitted (on the recording) that he was aware he could not suddenly declassify the docs post-presidency.
In light of this damning new admission of guilt, Trump’s lawyers recognized they simply could not stage a successful defense in court on his behalf and resigned!
This new plot twist against Donald Trump was so damning, Fox News analyst Jonathan Turley called it “very serious” and “a different ballgame” for Trump.
“Audio tapes and videotapes are particularly damaging in a case like this. It is an extremely damning indictment,” Turley, a conservative jurist and the Shapiro Professor of Public Interest Law at George Washington University, said during an appearance on Fox.
“Obviously, this is mishandling. Putting classified documents into ballrooms and bathrooms … borders on the bizarre,” Turley continued. “The Trump team should not fool itself. These are hits below the water line.”
If this 2nd indictment is successful and Donald Trump is convicted of obstruction of justice (as many legal analysts believe will happen), he could be sentenced to as many as 20 years in prison. With Trump set to turn 77 on Wednesday, this would effectively be a life sentence.
“Our laws that protect national defense information are critical to the safety and security of the United States, and they must be enforced,” US Special Counsel Jack Smith, who is leading the prosecution, said during a Friday press conference. “We have one set of laws in this country, and they apply to everybody.”
Predictably, Donald Trump took to social media with a snarky response.
“He is a Trump Hater – a deranged ‘psycho’ that shouldn’t be involved in any case having to do with ‘Justice,'” Trump said on his Truth Social network.

A new 2nd indictment could bring Donald Trump down.
Vox: Surveying the reactions of top Republicans after Donald Trump’s indictment on charges of mishandling classified information, you’d think the country was in the midst of a coup. “It is unconscionable for a President to indict the leading candidate opposing him,” House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy tweeted. “The weaponization of federal law enforcement represents a mortal threat to a free society,” Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis claimed. “There is no limit to what these people will do to protect their power & destroy those who threaten it, even if it means ripping our country apart,” Sen. Marco Rubio declared. These are extraordinary claims — and all made on Thursday night before the indictment or the evidence behind it was made public. On Friday morning, we learned thanks to CNN that Trump is literally on tape in 2021 discussing having documents in his possession that he knew were still classified. “As president,… Read more »
