9/11 Memorial and Museum Provide Hope
Current Events
Twelve years after the twin towers of the World Trade Center came crumbling down, 2 brand new towers stand majestically in the shadows of its predecessors. They join the memorial reflecting pool etched with names of the victims in beautiful black marble. But the shiny, modern and new beacons of freedom shooting high into the New York sky next to the memorial are only the beginning — the National September 11th Museum is nearing completion too!
The museum, which will open in the Spring of 2014, will be housed in the sacred ground beneath the place where the twin towers once stood. Artifacts, including an original staircase from the World Trade Center and 24 other large relics, will mark the tragic day and how we have survived a ‘post-9/11 world.’

Outfitting the museum has taken 3 years of painstaking work, with finishing touches being put on the building now. As New Yorkers and the rest of the world prepare for the 12th anniversary of the tragic day, we have moved from a decade of deep mourning to a moment of vigorous celebration. We have replaced the images of damage and destruction with proof of enormous accomplishment. We have cleared our minds of the pain and given our hearts reason to hope!
Good to see a positive story on 9-11. I didn't want to sit through any more crying and reading names. Glad we're moving forward.
