911: Uber Can Find You Faster

Did you know Uber or even the pizza delivery man can find you faster than 911? That’s the word from John Oliver of HBO’s “Last Week Tonight,” who used a recent broadcast to revealed just how bad emergency service has become.

Most of the blame goes to people who call 911 for non-emergency situations, or butt-dial the number and end up distracting dispatchers from actual dangerous situations. However, the real problem is that 9-1-1 technology is so outdated, it’s only accurate in obtaining your correct location only 80% of the time.

HUH???

Shouldn’t 9-1-1 emergency services be accurate 100% of the time?

Not only are emergency operators having difficulty in finding us during actual emergencies, but many callers are finding themselves being put on hold when they need help the most. This can’t be good.
