A New Day Dawns With Biden – Harris

Spread The Love

A new day has dawned in America with the inauguration of President Joe Biden and Vice-President Kamala Harris.

Current Events
As part of Wednesday’s inaugural festivities, former Presidents Clinton, Bush, and Obama delivered a special message to the new president and vice-president.  Then, celebrities united for a celebratory concert.  Bruce Springsteen, John Legend, Justin Timberlake, Bon Jovi, and others came together in a spectacular evening hosted by Tom Hanks.

a new day

However, the hands-down favorites of the night came from 2 female performers.  First, Demi Lovato delivered a danceable cover of the old Bill Withers hit “Lovely Day” featuring nurses, first responders, and ordinary Americans.  Then, Katy Perry closed out the evening singing her signature hit “Firework” complete with one of the most spectacular firework displays ever assembled.

In case you missed it, do yourself a favor and check out the presidential message and both performances below.

Thanks DJ. I saw the whole thing the night of the inauguration but somehow I didn’t see the name of the lady who who did Bill Wither’s song. You solved that mystery for me. 🙂

All things considered (especially the threat of violence and NO violence happened) it was an incredible week!

God is truly Amazing!

Whoever put this whole inauguration together deserves a award. All your highlight choices DJ are spot on. I really liked the president video and as a old Bill Withers fan Lovely day had me up dancing. But that fireworks show was the best I have ever seen. It was spectacular just like everything was. They really did it up on this one.

DJ I hope you don’t mind…I’m reposting your comment from yesterday because I didn’t see it until just now and I want to respond:

PERSONAL NOTE: I’m not sure if anyone noticed (it was subtle), however, over the last 4 years I never ONCE referred to Donald Trump as the “P” word. It was always “Trump” or “The Donald.” I used the terms “President” Obama and “Mr.” Obama prior to 2017 and look forward to returning to the use of the salutations Mr. Biden and President Biden from today onward. -– DJ

Actually Yes, I did notice that! And I honestly don’t recall if anyone on the site ever referred to Trump as the “P” word. I know I didn’t….lol
