Abortion Pill Rulings Cause Contradictions
Two separate and contradictory abortion pill rulings by two separate federal judges have confused the general public and set the stage for an all-out war on morality.
Current Events :
Last week, Judge Matthew J. Kacsmaryk of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Texas (a Trump appointee who has written critically about Roe v. Wade) declared the FDA’s approval of the abortion pill mifepristone back in 2000 to be invalid. However, Judge Thomas O. Rice of the US District Court for the Eastern District of Washington (an Obama appointee) ordered the FDA to continue providing the abortion pill and to block states from restricting its availability.
So, what gives?
In 2022, Republican politicians and conservative members of the US Supreme Court joined forces to end Roe v. Wade and permit states to make a woman’s right to choose illegal. However, the GOP has since gone a step further by attempting to also put an end to the so-called abortion pill, which has served as a workaround following the legal change.
Since conservatives and evangelicals originally set out to end abortion within the US completely, they soon realized that the abortion pill made the Supreme Court ruling nearly obsolete. Now, competing courts and mentalities regarding the law are at war in a fight for the ages.
“We have patients coming in for abortion services in our clinics today, so we had to know quickly what this meant for us,” Andrea Ferrigno, corporate vice president for Whole Woman’s Health said. “For patients, this is just another level of frustration, stress, and confusion during an already stressful time.”
For now, mifepristone is still available while an appeal is in place to decide the fate of the abortion pill. When or if that changes is yet to be seen.
If the appeals court upholds Judge Kacsmaryk’s order or declines to put it on pause until the full case is heard, the Justice Department will most likely appeal that decision to the Supreme Court. The Supreme Court could then quickly decide whether or not to suspend the injunction and take into account the contradictory ruling by the federal judge in the Washington district court case, legal experts say.
Still, even if the Texas ruling is upheld, several scenarios could allow mifepristone to remain available in the United States, at least for the time being. Additionally, if the drug does eventually become unavailable in the US, patients could probably still obtain it overseas, effectively negating the ruling.
This fight has been brewing for decades and won’t likely be resolved anytime soon. Stay tuned…

Honestly. I find that extremists of any ilk tend to look a little “off.” But right-wing extremists, in particular, really are in a league all their own when it comes to that look in their eyes. (See pic above)
They tend to be evil, extremely fearful and insecure, filled with hate and batsh*t Crazy!
