Lead Democratic House Impeachment Manager Adam Schiff delivered an impassioned message to Donald Trump and his GOP protectors in the US Senate during closing arguments late last week: “Right matters!”

Yes, while Republican senators played on their iPhones, completed crossword puzzles, or left the Senate chamber altogether after having already made up in their minds to acquit Donald Trump and leave him in office, Rep. Adam Schiff and his fellow Democratic House Managers did their patriotic duty by taking the trial and their constitutional responsibilities seriously with damning factual evidence against ‘The Donald.’
During emotional closing remarks that left him (and anyone watching) choked up and nearly speechless, Schiff went back to basics by invoking the constitution, putting country above party and personal gain, and, of course, doing what’s right.
“You can’t trust this president to do what’s right for this country. (But) You can trust he’ll do what’s right for Donald Trump.” – Rep. Adam Schiff
“OK, (we all know) he’s guilty. (But) Does he really need to be removed?” Schiff asked of the gathered senators. “No one is really making the argument ‘Donald Trump would never do such a thing’ because of course we know that he would and of course we know that he did.
“Here, right is supposed to matter,” Schiff continued. “If right doesn’t matter — if right doesn’t matter, it doesn’t matter how good the Constitution is. It doesn’t matter how brilliant the framers were,” he proclaimed. “Doesn’t matter how good or bad our advocacy in this trial is. Doesn’t matter how well written the oath of impartiality is. If right doesn’t matter, we’re lost. If the truth doesn’t matter, we’re lost.
“No constitution can protect us if right doesn’t matter anymore,” Schiff added. “You can’t trust this president to do what’s right for this country. (But) You can trust he’ll do what’s right for Donald Trump.”
Schiff’s emotion-filled closing remarks followed 3 days of presentations from House Democratic Managers that were loaded with factual evidence against Donald Trump’s abuse of power and obstruction of Congress.
In contrast, the Trump defense team began their opening statement on Saturday morning by only offering arguments against the process instead of an actual defense of Trump’s actions. They continued that same ploy on Monday, proving they have no legitimate defense of ‘The Donald’ and can/will only argue about how the Democrats have been “unfair” toward them during the process.
The Trump defense is such a sham, that his defense team began then ended their Saturday remarks after about 2 hours before pressing Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell to adjourn until Monday morning. Apparently, ‘The Donald’ himself sees his impeachment trial as a Made For TV reality show and threw a hissy fit because he thought his team’s Saturday remarks were the “death valley” of television and bad for his ratings. Hmmm…
That alone should show where Trump’s head is as the government conducts only the 3rd impeachment trial of a president in US history.
Nevertheless, while the Trump-Republican presentations have already proven to be a veritable circus, the Adam Schiff speech was so intense that if you didn’t already see it live, you must see it now. It’s a bit long but definitely worth the view.

Schiff and the Dems have presented the most compelling case they could. And in a world where Truth and Facts and doing what is right (as per the Constitution), actually matters to Repubs, Trump would’ve already received a visit from a Goldwater-type GOP leader telling him his lying-azz, corrupt sham of a presidency is over. Time to exit. But to all of America’s shame no such Repub leader exist today.
