First she was invited. Then she was UN-invited. Then she was RE-invited. The “she” is Sarah Palin. The event was the annual Senate and House Republican campaign dinner held last night in Washington, D.C.`
A great deal of controversy surrounded the initial invitation extended to Sarah Palin to speak at the big GOP gala. But amid conflicting stories, Madam Palin was told a very curt “THANKS, BUT NO THANKS!” That’s when the GOP extended an invitation to former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich, who accepted the keynote address slot. But the Sarah “Palin-ites” threw a fit that their girl would not be allowed to participate. So Gov. Palin was Re-invited…sort of.

Planners of the event felt Sarah Palin speaking would upstage the keynote Speaker Gingrich, so as of last weekend Sarah was Un-invited….again! But did she or didn’t she?

Well as of showtime last night, a smiling Sarah and Todd Palin joined a smiling Newt and Callista Gingrich on stage in a show of GOP unity. But the Palin’s were quickly ushered to their seats to allow the chosen speaker Newt Gingrich his solo moment in the spotlight. But that didn’t stop Sen. John McCain, who greeted his former running mate as she made her way to her table and soon after tweeted: “Great to see Sarah and Todd at the dinner tonight — nice reunion!” Although Sarah Palin did not speak at the event, Republicans found time during a break in the program to crowd around the Palin table eager to meet the Governor and pose for pictures.
(Sigh…..) Can it get any worse for the Republican Party??? I mean really!At present ALL of the contenders vying for “top dog” within the GOP are, at best, shameless, opportunistic, narcissistic, LOSERS_be it:Newt “contract ON America/ “Christianity is the foundation of U.S. citizenship”/ I practice multiple marriages” Gingrich OR…Sarah “I ain’t got a brain in my head or an original thought about anything, you betcha” Palin_OR..Mitt “there’s NOT a speck of authenticity or honesty in my body/ I’ll literally say ANYTHING to get elected” Romney.And the list goes on and on….. WHERE, pray tell, are the intelligent, conscientious, politically savvy, Republicans???? Have they all abandoned ship? Are they simply not going to try to save their party at all?!
