Ambassador Sondland Sings Like A Canary

- Takes down Trump, Pompeo, Perry, Mulvaney amid Democratic Debate

Spread The Love

In case you were unaware, Democratic Debate Pt. 5 took place last night in Atlanta. However, the big news of the day was not the debate but rather the highly anticipated impeachment inquiry testimony from Ambassador Gordon Sondland.

Top News Today
Hosted by MSNBC and The Washington Post at the Tyler Perry Studios in Atlanta, Joe Biden, Bernie Sanders, Elizabeth Warren, Pete Buttigieg, Kamala Harris, Amy Klobuchar, Andrew Yang, Cory Booker, Tulsi Gabbard, and Tom Steyer all went head-to-head in the 5th Democratic debate of the 2020 election season.

Ambassador Sondland

“Sadly we have a president who is not only a pathological liar, he is likely the most corrupt president in modern history,” Sen. Bernie Sanders said during his debate remarks. Interestingly, his words couldn’t have been more timely as the Trump/Ukraine corruption scandal easily stole center stage during the day’s news cycle and the history-making impeachment inquiry.

Ambassador Sondland was the star witness for the day and he did not disappoint during his appearance.

In the words of CNN, Sondland began the day with a huge decision: to save the Trump presidency or to save himself.

He chose himself!

In just his opening statement alone, Ambassador Sondland provided the unmistakable evidence that he was part of a Donald Trump-led plot to force the Ukrainians to open an investigation into Joe and Hunter Biden in exchange for a White House meeting.

Ambassador Sondland

“Everyone was in the loop. It was no secret,” Sondland said. “Everyone was informed via email on July 19th, days before the Presidential call. As I communicated to the team, I told President Zelensky in advance that assurances to ‘run a fully transparent investigation’ and ‘turn over every stone’ were necessary in his call with President Trump.”

Ambassador Sondland then added:

“I know that members of this Committee have frequently framed these complicated issues in the form of a simple question: Was there a ‘quid pro quo?’ As I testified previously, with regard to the requested White House call and White House meeting, the answer is yes.”

Wait… there’s more.

“Mr. Giuliani conveyed to Secretary Perry, Ambassador Volker, and others that President Trump wanted a public statement from President Zelensky committing to investigations of Burisma and the 2016 election. Mr. Giuliani expressed those requests directly to the Ukrainians. Mr. Giuliani also expressed those requests directly to us. We all understood that these pre-requisites for the White House call and White House meeting reflected President Trump’s desires and requirements.”

And, this:

Ambassador Sondland “Within my State Department emails, there is a July 19 email that I sent to Secretary Pompeo, Secretary Perry, Brian McCormack (Perry’s Chief of Staff), Ms. Kenna, Acting Chief of Staff and OMB Director Mick Mulvaney (White House), and Mr. Mulvaney’s Senior Advisor Robert Blair. A lot of senior officials. Here is my exact quote from that email:

“‘I Talked to Zelensky just now… He is prepared to receive Potus’ call. Will assure him that he intends to run a fully transparent investigation and will ‘turn over every stone’. He would greatly appreciate a call prior to Sunday so that he can put out some media about a ‘friendly and productive call’ (no details) prior to Ukraine election on Sunday.” Chief of Staff Mick Mulvaney responded: ‘I asked NSC to set it up for tomorrow.'”

There, my friends, is the smoking gun. The “proof-positive” the GOP has been demanding.  To put it in the words of Essence Magazine: “Sondland went Tekashi 6ix9ine” against Donald Trump. Or, to borrow a chess term, this is unquestionably CHECK and MATE!

The evidence couldn’t be more clear. Not only do the Democrats now have a rock-solid case to draw up formal Articles of Impeachment against Donald Trump, but they also have enough evidence to also implicate Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, Secretary of Energy Rick Perry, Chief-Of-Staff Mick Mulvaney, and several others inside the Trump orbit.

Stay tuned…

‘Ambassador Sondland Sings Like A Canary’ – DJ

Yep. And ya knew he would. The guy always has an arrogant and cynical smirk on his face. And he’s rich. No way was he taking the fall for Trump (and Giuliani’s) mess. No way.

Truthiz1

(side-note) Speaking of Giuliani…amazing how fast he shut it all down (his lying mouth and false tales) and disappeared from public view, when The Truth really began to come out.

He’d better be working on his own “gotta save my own azz” story because he could very well find himself sitting next to Michael Cohen. In prison. Not because of the Dems. But because of the Law.

Sondland is as corrupt as Giuliani and anyone else who works for Trump. He “sang like a canary” and thew everybody under the bus AFTER his role in all of this mess was revealed and he realized he was being set-up to be one of the 2 main guys to take the Fall for Trump. Giuliani, being the other main guy.

Mr.BD

That would be so funny if after all this Trump made Guliani take all the blame. I would not put it past him.

TAC Reader:
From how it is shaping up, I think Trump was using Giuliani as a ‘cut out’. That way Trump can say that he never wanted any quid pro quo; that he never said those things. After all, he said that he wanted nothing! By having Giuliani run the operation, probably with only verbal instruction, he can say that Giuliani went too far, that he misinterpreted his orders, etc. It was all done with a wink and a nod. Everyone might know that he did it, but prove it. […]

TAC Reader:
Republicans {only} defense of Trump at this is point is to argue that he was being bamboozled by Giuliani, Pompeo, Mulvaney about whether the aid was being withheld to investigate the Bidens rather than just to root out corruption. They should advise the President to force them to testify to clear his name.

Their argument would be an easier one if the President had divested assets that produce conflicts of interests, and fewer of his cabinet picks had not fallen on account of personal corruption, AND he were not resisting the release of his tax returns. […] /sarc

Mr.BD

Hey Truth the only problem with that argument is the phone call Sonland had with Truth where he was talking real loud on the phone and everybody in the restaurant could hear it. Trump basically admitted to it all because he did not know he could be heard. Dems have a rock solid case. Too bad the Repubs are still going to protect their boy once this goes to the senate.

Truthiz1

Now see BD, there you go again letting Facts get in the way. You know as well as I do that Trump will just LIE and claim that “it WASN’T me” on the phone…maybe it was someone who “SOUNDED like me.”

Mr.BD

They were talking about this on CNN yesterday. Sonland saw how Roger Stone went down and got convicted on all counts. So he did not want to take the fall and be like him. Of course he saved himself because there is no guarantee he will get a pardon from Trump. He had to go in there and tell the truth and boy did he tell it all. DJ is right Sonland made the entire case for the Dems. I have not been able to see any news yet today but my guess is the Repubs are real quiet today.

Wil

I just found this Donald Trump response to the Sondland testimony over at the Fox News website.

President Trump on Wednesday said that Ambassador to the European Union Gordon Sondland’s testimony before the House Intelligence Committee should exonerate him of any claims of wrongdoing in the ongoing impeachment inquiry into him.

Speaking to reporters before departing on a scheduled trip to Texas, Trump claimed that Sondland’s testimony means “it’s all over” for the proceedings and that the House inquiry into Trump should come to a halt.
