Apple, Facebook, Google Protest NSA Spying
Latest Technology In Computers
In an open letter to be published Monday, AOL, Apple, Facebook, Google, LinkedIn, Microsoft, Twitter, and Yahoo have all addressed a letter to President Obama and Congress, pressing for immediate changes to laws that allow the government to snoop into user activity. Known as the Global Government Surveillance Reform, the campaign by the tech companies has asked the government to implement 5 privacy principles, including limiting governments’ authority to collect users’ information, oversight and accountability, transparency about government demands, respecting the free flow of information, and avoiding conflicts among governments.
“Reports about government surveillance have shown there is a real need for greater disclosure and new limits on how governments collect information,” wrote Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg. “The US government should take this opportunity to lead this reform effort and make things right.”

Strong words from some of the major tech companies point out that current surveillance methods are deeply flawed and that the government should take immediate action for the public good. No word on if the NSA will consider the suggested changes, or if they will continue with business as usual.

I really don't buy this. Google and Facebook but don't forget the rest of these companies, are massive spies. However, I wonder if they are doing this because eventually, this is going to hurt their business.
