With a diet like that if she didn't lose the weight then a heart attack would have done her in anyway. Plus she was a smoker. I hope she is back on track, healthy, and getting her life together. We still need her here.

Yes. Clearly, she had grown to an unhealthy size. And obviously (as the pictures shows) she's slimmer now. But I won't lie. To me, she doesn't look *healthy.*Perhaps I'm mis-reading what I see in her face(?) She LOOKS like she's battling a very serious illness and I'm concerned that THAT's actually what's happening.  However, I love the *Queen* and I agree with the sentiment expressed by DJ:"whatever her size and for whatever her recent hospitalization was about, Aretha Franklin is still a national treasure."A *national treasure* indeed.

She looks real good with the weight loss but I hope she's healthy. Getting the stomach surgery is way better than getting cancer. I'm wishing her a full recovery.
