ARMY “Birther” FACES COURT-MARTIAL

The “Obama Birthers” are at it again!

President Obama was born in Honolulu, Hawaii, which was a U.S. state last time I checked.  But despite mounds of proof, including the certification of his official birth certificate by Hawaii’s Republican Gov. Linda Lingle, as well as two published newspaper announcements of Obama’s birth in Hawaii in August 1961, at least 11% of crackpots the population still want to believe a lie — that President Obama was NOT born in the U.S. and is therefore ineligible to be Commander-in-Chief.

A most recent and highly visible case involves an Army officer who has refused to deploy to Afghanistan because he says President Barack Obama has not proven that he was born in the United States and is therefore ineligible to be president.

Lt. Col. Terrence Lakin is a decorated Army doctor and 18-year military veteran who is now facing court martial for disobeying orders to ship out for tour of duty in Afghanistan.  In his defense, Lakin says the orders are illegal because Obama has not proven he was born in this country and can therefore not act in the capacity of Commander-in-Chief. Lakin wants Mr. Obama to produce his birth certificate for him to see personally, or he will continue to defy and refuse military orders. “It’s a fundamental of the Constitution, and my oath of office is to the Constitution. And I believe we need truth on this matter,” Lakin told CNN.

But Gov. Lingle weighed in, saying “I had my health director, who is a physician by background, go personally view the birth certificate in the birth records of the Department of Health. The president was in fact born at Kapi’olani Hospital in Honolulu, Hawaii. And that’s just a fact.  It’s been established he was born here. I can understand why people want to make certain that the constitutional requirement of being a, you know, natural born American citizen … but the question has been asked and answered. And I think just we should all move on now.”
