Attorney General Merrick Garland vs Donald Trump
If you thought Attorney General Merrick Garland was dragging his feet in investigating the nefarious deeds of Donald Trump, you may now put those fears to rest.
Politics :
On Tuesday night, Attorney General Merrick Garland appeared in an exclusive interview with NBC’s Lester Holt and said that although the House Select Committee is going after Trump for his actions on January 6th, the US Justice Dept. is (already) going after Trump for his threat to democracy.
The Justice Department plans to prosecute anyone who was “criminally responsible for interfering with the peaceful transfer of power from one administration to another,” Attorney General Merrick Garland announced during the interview. Using terms that made it clear he is looking far beyond the heinous Capitol Hill insurrection, Garland said he and his department have gained invaluable information regarding “the truth of what happened…and what a risk it meant for our democracy.”
“Look, the Justice Department has been doing the most wide-ranging investigation in its history. And the committee is doing an enormously wide-ranging investigation as well,” he said. It is inevitable that there will be things that they find before we have found them. And it’s inevitable that there will be things we find that they haven’t found. That’s what happens when you have two wide-ranging investigations going on at the same time.”
The chief of staff to former Vice President Mike Pence has already been called before a federal grand jury to determine just how much Donald Trump attempted to dismantle democracy with schemes to cheat the election results in his favor. That appears to be Garland’s focus and what could eventually be the fall of Trump and his MAGA machine.
When asked if he fears that perhaps the indictment of a former president (and potential 2024 candidate for president) might tear the country apart, Attorney General Merrick Garland was unfazed.
“We intend to hold everyone, ANYONE who was criminally responsible for the events surrounding January 6, for any attempt to interfere with the lawful transfer of power from one administration to another, accountable. That’s what we do. We don’t pay any attention to other issues with respect to that.”

Attorney General Merrick Garland is coming after Trump.
Greetings everyone!
Over the past week, I’ve been quite ill. I didn’t require hospitalization but it’s been a bit of battle nonetheless. I’m blessed to finally be on the road to a full recovery and getting back on my feet as soon as possible. My doc still has me on bed rest, while taking some serious meds, for at least another week.
In short, I missed you guys and glad to be able to be in the number again!
