Australian Breakdancer ‘Cheated’ The Olympics

Spread The Love

The Australian breakdancer who shocked the 2024 Paris Olympics with her god-awful dancing is being called out for cheating her way into the games.

Entertainment :
Rachel Gunn, AKA “RayGun” and her husband have been exposed for alleged shady actions that got her into the Olympics’ debut of breakdancing as a sport. More specifically, detractors claim that the Gunn’s manipulated the system and forced RayGun’s participation despite her being horrifically unqualified.

According to multiple news outlets, the 36-year-old Australian breakdancer (who holds a Ph.D in dance but has almost zero experience as a breakdancer) and her husband, Samuel Free (AKA “Sammy The Free”) decided to seize the opportunity to appear in the Olympic Games once they realized Australia didn’t have an official Olympic governing body. So, instead of waiting for someone else to set one up, they did it themselves.

By launching an Olympic governing body, the Gunn’s received multiple grants that were earmarked to prepare an Australian breakdancing team to take to Paris. However, instead of using the funds on qualified local talent who’d been breakdancing for multiple years, the Gunn’s named Sammy Gunn the official coach and then went about eliminating all legitimate competitors in favor of RayGun.

Now, a petition has been set up against the Australian breakdancer that’s demanding an apology and an investigation.

“Rachel Gunn, who set up her own governing body for breakdancing, has manipulated the selection process to her own advantage,” the petition states. “Despite the clear talent and qualification of other outstanding female breakdancers like G Clef and Holy Molly, they were unfairly overlooked. The NT Youlong Boys, a group of incredibly talented and underprivileged youth from the Northern Territory, were denied crucial funding by Dr. Gunn to attend the qualifiers—a decision that directly impacted their chance to showcase their skills on a national stage.

“Disturbingly, Dr. Gunn went on to win her own qualifier, defeating other phenomenal breakdancers, raising serious questions about the fairness and integrity of the process,” the petition continued. “If Dr. Gunn’s husband is indeed the Australian coach and part of the selection panel, this represents a blatant conflict of interest that cannot go unchecked.”

To date, the petition has garnered more than 30,000 signatures.

The moment the Australian breakdancer took the stage at the Paris Games, she was mocked the world over for what The Root labeled as a “kangaroo hopping, windmill swinging routine.”

Black artists denounced her performance, saying she “mocked” the Black art form, while authentic Australian breakdancers who put their heart and soul into their craft said they were unfairly cheated out of the grand opportunity of making it to the Olympic games.

In case you missed it, the Australian breakdancer received a perfect score in Paris: ZERO across the board.

Somehow, receiving the worst score ever didn’t deter her.

“Creativity is really important to me. I go out there, and I show my artistry,” RayGun said. “Sometimes, it speaks to the judges, and sometimes, it doesn’t. I do my thing and it represents art. That is what it is about.”

Thankfully, RayGun won’t ever have to worry about competing in the Olympic Games again. Paris was the very first and very last time the games will allow a breakdancing competition.

According to ABC-10, Los Angeles has announced it will not host breakdancing at the 2028 Games.

So wait. Breakdance competition just made its debut during this Summer’s Olympics. But because these two attention seeking clowns basically made a mockery of the dance form it will no longer be included in the Olympics competition?!

I’m no fan of breakdancing and don’t understand why it was included in the Olympics in the first place(?) But the decision to quikly eliminate it because of these clowns tells me the Olympic Committee didn’t really want it either.

Hey Truth I do not think this lady made them stop breaking for next time. I heard it was not popular or received well.

I saw this lady at the Olympics and DJ is right it was awful. Also breaking has no business being at the Olympics.
