Be Patient With Health Care

Creating and implementing affordable health care for the billions of people in this entire nation has not been easy, nor should anyone have expected it to be. The political games by Republicans to prevent it from ever becoming law in the first place, to the political oneupmanship by Republicans still being waged to this day just so they could say “see, I told you so” has not made it a walk in the park. The website glitches and the loss of former health plans when signing up for a new one have helped tarnish what still stands to eventually be a good thing. But patience, my dear people.
Late last week, President Obama issued an apology to the American people for the trouble they’ve encountered in trying to implement the new health care law into their own lives. “I am sorry that they, you know, are finding themselves in this situation, based on assurances they got from me,” Mr. Obama said to NBC News. “We’ve got to work hard to make sure that they know we hear them and that we’re going to do everything we can to deal with folks who find themselves in a tough position as a consequence of this.”

The president said he has asked his staff to find an administrative fix to preserve insurance for those Americans who may have lost their coverage and do not qualify for subsidies that would make new policies affordable.
“I’ve assigned my team to see what we can do to close some of the holes and gaps in the law,” he said, “because, you know, my intention is to lift up and make sure the insurance that people buy is effective — that it’s actually going to deliver what they think they’re purchasing.”
Now for those who have already predetermined that they are against health care or anything that President Obama ever suggests, obviously his words meant nothing. But for those who have at least one bone of fairness in their body, again the word “patience” comes to mind.

Anytime something this major is introduced for the very first time to billions of people, there are bound to be issues. Just ask Microsoft whenever they’ve issued a new operating system, or Google when they first pushed out Google +. But was it ever realistic for anyone to assume this ship would sail smoothly right out of the dock, even while Republicans were tossing hand grenades at it wishing for it to fail?
When this country first allowed women to vote or African-Americans to attend any school of their choice, it didn’t go so well at first. Neither did the implementation of Social Security (6 years) or a myriad of other government programs in their initial launch. However, we look back on all of those as the right thing to do and right for America, while forgetting how hard it may have been to kick start. I suggest that despite the issues of implementing health care for everyone, we will one day realize just how much this too was the right thing to do, while forgetting how difficult it was to kick start.
Or in other words, PLEASE BE PATIENT!

People need to get over it. No, the website wasn't perfect but so what. It is not a reflection on the health care insurance. This country should have been had a health care plan. It honestly should have been combined with medicare. Who told the 55 years and older group that they are the only ones entitled to health care. My money goes into medicare/medicaid. I want to be able to use it as well. A little off topic forgive me.
