Ben Carson Is Not Fit To Be President
Ben Carson might be an incredible brain surgeon, but he’d make a lousy president. Considering his actions and words on the campaign, it’s no wonder there are whispers that Ben Carson is simply not fit to be President of the United States.
Politics
Throughout the course of his presidential campaign, Ben Carson has often appeared rather level-headed. In fact, whenever he speaks, his tone has been frequently classified as “boring” and “mediocre.” However, once the media hit a few nerves with Carson recently, the sleep-inducing candidate quickly lost control and had a public meltdown.
After Ben Carson lied about getting a full scholarship to West Point, the uncomfortableness of the situation set him off during a news conference. Dr. Carson emotionally lashed out at reporters, then attempted to change the subject by detouring into a crazy rant about President Obama.
“I do not remember this level of scrutiny for President Barack Obama, when he was running,” Carson whined. “In fact, I remember just the opposite. I remember people just…’oh we won’t talk about that. We wont really talk about that relationship..well, Frank Marshall Davis…oh, we won’t talk about that….Bernadine Dohrn…Bill Ayers….oh, yeah he didn’t really know him.’ All the things that Jeramie Wright was saying….’ohhh not a big problem. He goes to Occidental College doesn’t do all that well and somehow goes to Columbia University. Well…..his records are sealed.’ Why are his records sealed? Why are you not interested in why his records are sealed?”
When reporters tried to steer Carson back on message, he derailed again, saying “I’m asking you….don’t change the subject…will someone tell me why President Obama’s records are sealed!!!”
Needless to say, he did not appear at all presidential.
This is only 1 in a series of political missteps that the man who hopes to be president has made.
In 1998, Ben Carson oddly volunteered he doesn’t believe the Egyptian pyramids were built as tombs for the country’s pharaohs. Instead, he said he believes the pyramids were built to store grain.
“My own personal theory is that Joseph built the pyramids to store grain,” the Seventh-Day Adventist Carson said while delivering a commencement address at Andrews University in Michigan. “Now all the archaeologists think that they were made for the pharaohs’ graves. But, you know, it would have to be something awfully big when you stop and think about it, and I don’t think it’d just disappear over the course of time to store that much grain.”
In October of 2013, Carson used a speech at the Values Voter Summit in Washington, D.C. to compare President Obama’s Affordable Care Act to slavery.
“You know, Obamacare is really, I think, the worst thing that has happened in this nation since slavery,“ Carson said. “And it is in a way, it is slavery in a way, because it is making all of us subservient to the government, and it was never about health care. It was about control.”
Politics
In February of this year, Carson said he believes there should not be rules for how the U.S. Armed Forces conducts itself during times of war.
“Our military needs to know that they’re not going to be prosecuted when they come back because somebody has said, ‘You did something that was politically incorrect,’” Carson said during an appearance on Fox News. “There’s no such thing as a politically correct war. We need to grow up. We need to mature.”
Then in March of this year, Ben Carson pronounced to the world that homosexuality is a choice and people can “absolutely” choose whether to be gay or straight. He even used the example of prison to illustrate his point.
“A lot of people who go into prison go into prison straight, and when they come out they’re gay. So did something happen while they were in there?” he said during a CNN interview.
Later that day, Carson was forced to apologize for his comment, claiming it didn’t completely reflect his stance on gay issues.
“I do not pretend to know how every individual came to their sexual orientation,” he said in a statement. “I regret that my words to express that concept were hurtful and divisive. For that I apologize unreservedly to all that were offended.”
Earlier this month, Carson said the Founding Fathers had no political experience, in an attempt to make the case that political experience is not the most important quality in choosing a president.
“Are we sure political experience is what we need? Every signer of the Declaration of Independence had no elected office experience,” he wrote on Facebook.
When The Washington Post pointed out to Dr. Carson that more than half of the signers had elected office experience, he updated the original post to say they had “no federal elected office experience.” Somehow, Ben Carson must have missed the memo that of course no one held federal elected office, since there was not yet a federal government!
Carson then took on the issue of gender, saying transgender people ‘make everybody else uncomfortable’ in public restrooms
“How about we have a transgender bathroom?” Carson asked. “It is not fair for them to make everybody else uncomfortable. It’s one of the things that I don’t particularly like about the movement. I think everybody has equal rights but I’m not sure that anybody should have extra rights.”
For a person to be this misguided, this clueless and so easily riled by the national media, how can anybody sincerely believe Ben Carson is fit to sit in the Oval Office?
At least 1 American doesn’t believe Carson is ready for the office of President of the United States.
In a recent speech while seeing the Broadway show “Hamilton,” President Obama said it best. “If Ben Carson can’t handle a little pressure from the media, how could he handle pressure from Russia’s Vladimir Putin?”
Check and mate!
IS THIS PRESIDENTIAL?
I'll cut right to the chase on this one…..
I could not AGREE with you more DJ. Carson's success as a neurosurgeon notwithstanding, the man is patently Unfit to be President of the United States.
Heck, IMO, he's NOT even fit to run for the office. And frankly, with all his supposed "life story," under closer scrutiny_in addition to all of the nonsense he's babbled over the years_I suspect he wishes he had never decided to do so.
