Biden Admission: Will He Or Won’t He Run?
Have you heard about the surprise Biden admission on why he’s running for president again?
Politics :
On Tuesday, President Biden made a surprisingly honest statement regarding his reasons for seeking a 2nd White House term — which also included an additional admission on what would make him not run for re-election. His answer was the same across the board: Donald Trump.
“If Trump wasn’t running, I’m not sure I’d be running,” Mr. Biden told donors at a fundraiser near Boston regarding the threat another Trump term would pose against American democracy. “Trump’s not even hiding the ball anymore. He’s telling us what he’s going to do. He’s making no bones about it. But we cannot let him win.
“He is running, and I have to run,” the president concluded.
“Yikes,” one top campaign adviser exclaimed following the bold Biden admission.
According to CNN, Mr. Biden’s words were “incredibly candid” and “made it clear that he believes he is the only Democrat that can beat Donald Trump.”
“There’s no doubt that Trump was a motivating factor, of course, in Biden’s thinking about running for re-election. But as Biden is [accustomed] to do in these scenarios where he’s behind closed doors, he kind of reveals his innermost thoughts,” CNN political director David Chalian said during a discussion on The Lead with Jake Tapper.
“And what we’re seeing here is a real clearly defined rationale for Biden pursuing reelection despite his current political standing, which is not that great in the polls, obviously, the conversation about his age and concern among Democrats about if he is the best candidate to put forward,” Chalian continued.
“It raises the question, I know he’s the big frontrunner, [but] what if Donald Trump is not the Republican nominee?” Chalian posed. “Does that mean President Biden is going to reconsider his re-election effort? Is that the key rationale for his running?”
“This is the kind of admission a candidate should be making,” host Jake Tapper responded. “Because if he thought Kamala Harris, or [Pete] Buttigieg, or [Gretchen] Whitmer, or [Gavin] Newsom, or [Amy] Klobuchar — if any of them, you know, could do it, just maybe doesn’t have as good a chance, but could do it, then theoretically, at least according to what he said, he might bow out,” Tapper added.
The discussion on CNN raised several interesting questions.
Does Mr. Biden secretly believe he is too old and/or not in the best physical or mental shape for a 2nd term? Does he consider running for re-election his historic responsibility to “save democracy” from Trump, and not a personal desire to remain in The White House? Additionally, if Donald Trump is indicted or otherwise ineligible to receive the GOP nomination, would Mr. Biden step aside and allow some other Democrat to run in his place?
OK WASSUP! discusses Politics:
A surprise Biden admission on re-election.
Biden’s admission should suprise no one who’s paid attention to Biden since 2020. when he took forever to make up his mind about running for President.
There’s no doubt in my mind that he probably would’ve preferred to have retired from politics at that time and went home to spend time with his family, especially his grandchildren. But all indications pointed to him being the Only person who could possibly keep Trump from being reelected so Joe made the sacrifice.
And for that, I am truly grateful!
