Biden Gets Ready To Run!
Look out, Democratic Party — it looks like Vice-President Joe Biden is ready to run!

Armed with nagging knowledge of Hillary Clinton’s growing email scandal, along with a deathbed promise he made to his late son, Beau, Joseph R. Biden seems more ready now than ever before to jump into the Democratic primary for President of the United States. He has collected a cadre of important party heavyweights in his corner prior to pulling the trigger. He’s even reportedly received the blessing of his boss and friend, President Barack Obama.
If there was no clearer indication that Biden was serious about entering the race, his private meeting with Sen. Elizabeth Warren last Saturday in his residence at the Naval Observatory should remove all doubt. Beloved by liberal Democrats, Warren decided to bypass a campaign of her own and has yet to formally endorse a candidate. Her stature within the party, especially among liberals, would make her a powerful partner on a potential Biden-Warren ticket.
With the Iowa caucuses and New Hampshire primary only 6 months away, Biden is the Democrat party stalwarts believe they could turn to should they needed an alternative to Clinton, whose favorability ratings have taken a dive over her careless email use while secretary of state.
For years, the Democratic Party, led by the Obama White House, has strategically paved a street of gold for Hillary Clinton to become Mr. Obama’s heir apparent and the party’s nominee.  Democrats have longed to go down in history as the party to elect the first African-American president, then the first female president. Interestingly, former Mayor of San Antonio Julian Castro, was plucked from local Texas politics and promoted to Secretary of Housing and Urban Development, for what many believe was to give him national prominence before becoming Hillary’s running mate.  This would not only provide Democrats with its first viable female candidate for president, but its first Mexican-American vice-presidential running mate as well (in a nod to the powerful Hispanic electorate). A Biden candidacy could potentially damage this plan that has been years in the making.

Still, Biden seems undeterred by party plans and is moving swiftly forward with plans of his own. On Monday night, he huddled at his residence with Anita Dunn and Bob Bauer, the husband-and-wife political team who has been at President Obama’s side for much of the last decade. Dunn, a former White House communications director, and Bauer, a longtime lawyer to Mr. Obama, were among those invited to Biden’s home at the Naval Observatory in Washington. Ted Kaufman, a loyal Biden confidant who briefly occupied his Senate seat from Delaware, was also among those gathered to discuss how — not if — Biden would run.
Key Democratic fundraisers have also been invited to meet with Biden immediately after Labor Day. Although many top Democrats have already signed on to Hillary Clinton’s campaign, several former Obama advisers acknowledge they would work for Biden if he jumped into the race.
Mr. Biden is said to be considering several factors for a potential candidacy, including a timeline for getting into the race, as well as a fundraising plan that could help him launch a come-from-behind campaign against Mrs. Clinton.
Like many Democrats, Biden and his team are keeping a careful watch on continued questions about Hillary’s email use at the State Department.  Just this week alone, new developments include allegations that classified information may have passed through her private account, which has caused leaders within the Democratic Party to question her viability as the party’s nominee.  Although those jitters haven’t led to widespread calls for Biden to join the race, polls showing Hillary Clinton’s trustworthiness slipping at least has top Democrats looking elsewhere.
“Frankly when it became clear that he was giving the race serious consideration, I just raised my hand,” Steve Schale, who ran President Obama’s 2008 and 2012 campaigns in Florida, said. Last week, Schale joined “Draft Biden,” the independent group encouraging the vice president to run.
"Look out, Democratic Party — it looks like Vice-President Joe Biden is ready to run!" The key words for me are "it looks like." Yes, the media is in overdrive hying this thing but that's mostly what the American news media has become since 9/11….a HYPE machine. Would it suprise me if Biden jumped in? No. Not really. But I won't be suprised if he stays out of it as long as he can either. I'm just not sold on the idea he actually wants to run let alone is ready to run(?) The man just loss his son…his "Beau." You don't just heal from that in a matter of weeks or months or (sometimes) even years. Running for President is not something you do half-heartedly….at least, Not if you're a serious person who takes it very seriously. Which Biden is…and does. He knows the sacrifice it'll take. And he's… Read more »
