Biden – Harris: Could They Be Trump Kryptonite?

Spread The Love

Earlier this month, America witnessed Round II of the Kamala Harris vs Joe Biden debate fight.  However, instead of continuing to battle as bitter enemies, could Biden – Harris actually be the perfect Democratic kryptonite to bring down Donald Trump?

Politics
Let’s be frank:  the #1 goal for Democrats in 2020 should be to remove Donald Trump from the Oval Office by any means necessary  — and the operative phrase here is BY ANY MEANS NECESSARY!  This means Democrats simply cannot afford to squabble over individual ideas or political philosophies.  To do so would be election suicide and could mean 4 more years of the madness of Donald Trump.

Biden - Harris

When the American military goes into war, they send in the best personnel and the best weapons to get a particular job done.  Depending on the conflict, sometimes, soldiers on the ground with guns is what’s required.  Other times, a missile or perhaps a nuclear weapon may be needed to take out the enemy.  Well, Democrats have to think in these terms.  No parsing of political ideologies.  No splitting hairs along the lines of popularity.

Certain states like California and New York will always vote for the Democratic candidate.  Other states like Alabama and Missouri will always vote for the Republican candidate.  This means that states like Pennsylvania, Ohio, Michigan, and Wisconsin are the battleground states where the 2020 presidential election will be decided.

What do all these states have in common?  They’re all in the “Rust Belt” and they’re where blue-collar Americans reside.  They’re also the states that handed Donald Trump the election in 2016.

Democrats need a candidate who can relate to the voters of these states and appear as “one of them” so as to turn the rust belt from red back to blue.  So, which of the 2 dozen Democratic candidates hails from the rust belt, relates to its residents, speaks to the issues of blue-collar Americans, and is widely recognized as “one of them?”  Joe Biden, that’s who.

Yes, Joe Biden has his faults.  Yes, Joe Biden may not be the sexiest choice or the candidate Democrats feel checks all boxes on their political wish lists.  However, he is by far the lone candidate who can very nearly guarantee Pennsylvania, Ohio, Michigan, and Wisconsin.

Remember:  “By Any Means Necessary!”

Biden - Harris

Now, let’s take a look at Kamala Harris.

From her 2 debate appearances, Sen. Harris has been widely seen as the most electric candidate, the most exciting candidate, and perhaps the most Obama-esque candidate.  Just like Mr. Obama, Harris is a junior senator from a popular Democratic state who’s also of mixed ethnicity.  Additionally, her positions speak to most Democratic voters in California, New York, Illinois, and other Democratic strongholds.  And, if that wasn’t enough, Republicans secretly fear her.

“I think she’s dangerous, and probably maybe the most dangerous, from our view,” said one GOP political operative.

Combine Biden – Harris on the same Democratic ticket and there’s a legitimate and mathematically possible path to winning the presidency.

“[Biden – Harris] would be a dream ticket for me, a dream ticket! If she [Harris] is not the nominee, that would be a dream ticket for this country.” – Rep. Lacy Clay (D-Mo.)

Joe Biden can get blue-collar America to listen.  He has the authority to speak to those white male voters who somehow feel disenfranchised, as well as those unemployed factory workers and near-bankrupt farmers who voted for Trump but now feel abandoned.  His popularity in the rust belt could cover that blue-collar region and possibly trickle down to West Virginia, Virginia, North Carolina, and beyond.

Kamala Harris is that fiery candidate Democrats are clamoring for.  Her role would be to make sure apathetic voters on the west coast, east coast, and other Democratic base states would be excited to get behind her and get their butts to the polls.  She’s also an ethnic minority and a woman, which would make history in her election as Vice-President of the United States and could tilt the vote of African-Americans, Hispanics, and women toward the Democrats.  Also, she’d be first in line to be the next POTUS after Biden.

Together, Biden – Harris could give Trump-Pence an ass-whipping they never saw coming.  Donald Trump is already fearful of Joe Biden as an opponent, so think of how he’d feel with Kamala Harris — a Black and Asian woman — adding firepower to the ticket?  Some Democrats are already calling it a “dream ticket.”  Even Fox News is admitting the ticket could spell trouble for Trump.  After all, what other combination of Democrats can eat into Trump’s base and bring blue back to The White House?

Biden - Harris

So, ask yourself:  can Bernie Sanders beat Trump in the all-important rust belt?  Can Elizabeth Warren?  Or, like it or not, is Biden – Harris the weapons-grade formula of kryptonite that can take out the trash with Donald Trump?

The former vice-president and elder statesman combined with the former attorney general of California and Democratic lightning rod might just be the formula Democrats never knew they needed.

Remember:  BY ANY MEANS NECESSARY!

Wow…you’re starting the week off with a tough one for me huh DJ..!?! …lol

Well alrighty then…let me start with the easy one first. Joe Biden.

Black-Americans are practical people. Yes, Joe is about as exciting as a cup of warm milk. However, as DJ correctly emphasizes: “..{Biden} is BY FAR the lone candidate who can very nearly guarantee Pennsylvania, Ohio, Michigan, and Wisconsin.”

Many older voters can be practical too. Older Americans (age 60+) VOTE…..and they VOTE in large numbers, Especially older White people. And older white people tend to like and trust Biden, Especially those who just CAN’T stomach Trump anymore.

Kamala Harris (sigh)…I’m sorry DJ. but this woman gives me the blues. It’s not that she doesn’t tick off all the boxes in my wish list (I would never expect that of Any candidate). She doesn’t tick off ANY boxes in my wish list. She lurches from position to position like a candidate who develops her policies by simply holding up a finger to see which way the wind is blowing at any given point in time. And whatever her policy or position on a given issue she doesn’t it very well at all. There’s just no there there. Joe may be a Non-exciting candidate but the man IS authentic. So is Elizabeth Warren….authentic. But I’ll get to her in a minute. Harris also turned me off with her cut-throat attack on Biden at her first opportune moment, as she attempted to paint him as a racist. And please note-… Read more »

Oops!… I mean to say: “And whatever her policy or position on a given issue she doesn’t articulate it very well at all.”

Mr.BD

I was just having this conversation the other day. Truth we are not going to get somebody perfect. Donald Trump is not perfect in the least and he is who we are stuck with if we don’t win. Democrats have to be real careful not to pick our candidates apart. Kamala Harris has her faults I admit. None of them are perfect to me. But I do think Biden and Harris can beat Trump. Like DJ said, we have to beat Trump by any means necessary.

Truthiz1

Oh don’t get me wrong BD. If Harris is Biden’s VP pick I’ll hold my nose and vote for them. Getting Trump out of office is the #1 priority.

Conclusion: I still believe Michelle Obama as Our presidential nominee would SMASH it out the park! But she’s not running so Biden for president it is. I wish there was a Black female candidate I could support as Biden’s VP pick but there isn’t. I love Stacey Abrams but frankly I prefer she wait a few more years and continue putting in serious work at the grass-roots level, before running for president. Which brings me to Warren as my VP. Yes, she tends to be too far left for my usual comfort zone but she’s not so far out there that I can’t support her as VP. She’s a formidable candidate. She knows where she stands on any given issue and – and though she’s vague on where the money will come from to pay for her proposals – she’s very knowledgeably and is able to articulate her positions very… Read more »

I could get behind Biden and Harris. They seem to balance each other.

Mr.BD

If this was the Democrat ticket I would back it 100 percent. If we want to beat Trump then Biden is the man like DJ said. But I would be open to Kamala, Corey Booker and Julian Castro on the ticket. Buttigieg could be in there too. But whoever it is we have to beat Trump.
