Biden/Harris is now official — and Americans were literally dancing in the streets!
Top News Today
On Saturday morning, after days of failed Trump lawsuits and multiple states double and triple-checking the math, Joe Biden and Kamala Harris were officially declared winners of the 2020 election. The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania put them over the top with 273 electoral votes and Nevada followed soon thereafter. The news prompted everyday Americans to run out into the streets cheering, clapping, screaming, and celebrating.
In cities from coast to coast, cars began honking their horns and flashing their lights. And then, people simply felt the need to collectively gather.
In Los Angeles, New York, Philadelphia, San Francisco, Chicago, Atlanta, and places in between, revelers took to the streets for an impromptu all-day celebration of Biden/Harris delivering the words to Donald Trump many have waited 4 years to hear: “YOU’RE FIRED!” There were no protests. There was no violence. Only tons of people wearing masks and blowing off what was obviously years of built-up steam for a restored America.
DING, DONG, THE WITCH IS DEAD! All across America, the scene was comparable to the iconic scene from “The Wizard Of Oz” when Glenda the Good Witch told the Munchkins, “You can come out now.” Or, the historic words of former President Gerald Ford, who, following the resignation of President Nixon from the Watergate scandal, told America: “Our long national nightmare is over.”
When every major news agency (including Fox) called the race for Biden, Donald Trump was on the golf course and away from his television and Twitter account. However, he was gifted with a cacophony of boos and jeers and chants of “GET OUT!” from crowds on the streets of Washington as his motorcade sped back to The White House.
To date, a bitter and petulant Donald Trump has still refused to accept the outcome of the election or to communicate with President-elect Biden and officially concede, which is customary in modern politics. Instead, he doubled down and hinted he may not leave The White House because, in his words, “I won.”
In response to Trump’s suggestion that he may not go away easily, Biden campaign spokesman Andrew Bates provided clarity. “The U.S. government is perfectly capable of escorting trespassers out of the White House,” he said Friday.
Joe Biden is now the president-elect and will become the 46th President of the United States in January. However, just like in 2008 when Barack Obama became the first Black president of the USA, history was also made in 2020.
Kamala Harris is now the vice president-elect and will become not only the first female Vice-President of the United States but the first Black and South Asian Vice-President of the United States.
On Saturday evening during a jubilant drive-in celebration at the Biden/Harris headquarters in Wilmington, Delaware, the president-elect and vice president-elect addressed the nation.
The vice president-elect took the stage to a Mary J. Blige anthem, then celebrated what the moment of her breaking the proverbial “glass ceiling” meant to women, particularly Black women.
“Black women have been overlooked for too long, but have proven they are the backbone of our democracy,” Ms. Harris said.
Then, saying “He had the audacity to break one of the most substantial barriers that exists in our country and select a woman as his vice president,” she introduced President-elect Joe Biden, who immediately reminded us all of just how a genuine president should look and sound.
In a message of unity and not division, Mr. Biden said, “We have to stop treating our opponents as our enemies. Let this grim era of demonization in America begin to end now.” He also vowed to be a president of not just red states or blue states, but the UNITED states.
“For all those of you who voted for President Trump, I understand the disappointment tonight,” Mr. Biden said. “I’ve lost a couple times myself. But now, let’s give each other a chance. It’s time to put away the harsh rhetoric, lower the temperature, see each other again, listen to each other again.”
Witnessing the beginning of the restoral of dignity and decorum to the office of the presidency was indeed a powerful moment and one that the Biden/Harris administration has already begun to deliver.

Yep. And I was rather surprised to see it happening at all. But to see it in real time…yeah that was an incredible sight to behold…lol
What really struck me was the number of White people out there…especially young White people. They were Celebrating like nobody’s business! A reminder that WE (Black and brown people) didn’t do this alone. WE had a lot of help.
But I must also admit I was really concerned about the lack of social distancing. So while I absolutely understood why so many people wanted to join in the Celebration I do hope and pray the participants are alright.
