Biden Matriarch Passes Away
Services for Catherine Eugenia “Jean” Biden, the mother of Vice President Joe Biden, will begin with a wake later this evening.

Jean Biden, 92, died Friday evening at her Delaware home after a brief illness, surrounded by Vice-President Biden and other family members and loved ones, according to a statement released by the White House.
“Together with my father, her husband of 61 years who passed away in 2002, we learned the dignity of hard work and that you are defined by your sense of honor,” the Vice-President said in a statement. “Her strength, which was immeasurable, will live on in all of us.”
