BIDEN vs. RYAN IS A THRILLER!
Vice-President Joe Biden and Republican vice-presidential nominee Paul Ryan sparred last night in an exuberant and substantive debate that left most everyone with one very unified opinion — now THAT was a debate!
Unlike the presidential debate between President Obama and Mitt Romney, this meeting was more spirited, more lively, more entertaining. Both men frequently looked each other in the eye and spoke directly to the other, with Biden often challenging Ryan on the facts. Moderator Martha Raddatz of ABC News fully controlled the tempo and held the respect of both men, in perhaps one of the best debate moderating jobs ever.
Vice-President Biden is known as an attack dog and his performance last night did not disappoint. Unlike his boss, he made sure to hold Romney’s feet to the fire. Biden made sure to remind debate watchers of Romney’s infamous comments excluding 47% of America, his suggestions to allow the automobile industry to go bankrupt and more.
Paul Ryan participated in his first national debate and did well, but not well enough. He was frequently tripped up, especially when asked how a Romney/Ryan administration would pay for a 20% tax cut. As has been said of the Romney/Ryan ticket, they have been long on promises and short on specifics.
I don’t put much faith in debates, but this one was special. It put the Democrats back into the race and Romney/Ryan back on their heels. As for the “winner,” comedian Bill Maher said it best on his Twitter feed: “Hello 9-1-1? There’s an old man beating a child on my TV!”

Hear! Hear!..DJ
And with Biden having set the stage beautifully for the President's 2nd debate next Tuesday, the President MUST *bring down the house* (if you will) on Romney. Here's hoping that the President NOW understands this and gets it done.
TGIF!
