Biden vs Trump Debate: A ‘Shit Show!’

- This was the worst debate EVER. Do we really need another one like this one?

Spread The Love

Tuesday night’s Biden vs Trump debate at the Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland was perhaps best described by CNN political analyst Dana Bash: “It was a ‘shit show.'”

Top News Today
If you’ve ever watched the chaotic and unpredictable Running of the Bulls event in Spain, multiply that by 100 and you’ll have the Biden vs Trump debate from Tuesday night. To say this debate was a hot mess would be an understatement. It was indeed a ‘shit show’ — and we can mostly thank Donald Trump for providing the hour and a half of non-stop antics that turned most viewers off.

Biden vs Trump Debate

From the moment the Biden vs Trump debate began, Donald Trump made it crystal clear he had ZERO interest in following the rules and honoring the time restraints HIS own team agreed to follow. Instead, Trump began the debate on 10, sweating and angry, being a bully, and interrupting Joe Biden at every turn. In fact, Trump’s constant interruptions became such an issue that moderator Chris Wallace was forced to say “Mr. President, JUST STOP!” The surprise scolding prompted Trump to respond: “I guess I’m debating you, not Joe.”

Donald Trump ridiculed Joe Biden for always wearing a mask under all circumstances. He even ‘sang’ his greatest hit: “I’m doing an EXCEPTIONAL job” on the COVID crisis. However, what were the highlights of the evening?
.

HIGHLIGHTS

Since Donald Trump spent the entire 90-minute debate shouting and being personally rude toward Joe Biden, it’s difficult to pinpoint any interesting one-liners from him. Perhaps one came when Trump attacked Biden for not being smart and attempted to diminish where he went to school, saying “Don’t ever use the word ‘smart’ with me.”

However, Joe Biden was able to sneak in several lines of interest.

“We handed him a booming economy. He blew it!” Biden said of Trump’s failed economy.

“We are weaker, sicker, poorer, more violent, more divided” as a nation, Biden told Trump because of his failed leadership.

“It is what it is because you are who you are,” Biden said to Trump regarding his failed response to the COVID pandemic.

“He said he didn’t want to panic the people. Instead, HE panicked,” Biden said of Trump’s claims that he downplayed the virus purposely to protect people from panicking.

“You should get out of your bunker and off your golf course and do now what is needed to save lives,” Biden chided Trump regarding his COVID response.

“You’re the worst president America has ever had!”

“Will you shut up, man?” Joe Biden told Trump for his repetitive interruptions. It was hands down the line of the night.

.

LOW-LIGHTS

THE most disturbing moment of the night by far came when moderator Chris Wallace asked Trump if he would denounce white supremacy and encourage his racist supporters to not engage in violence should he lose the election.

In a repulsive response, Trump refused to directly denounce white supremacy but instead said he would tell the Proud Boys and other divisive white supremacist groups to “Stand back and stand by.”

HUH???

Yes, Donald Trump threw away his dog-whistle and used a bullhorn to tell his white supremacist supporters to “stand by” with violence and any other tactics to ruin democracy should he lose the election.

Biden vs Trump Debate

The Anti-Defamation League immediately denounced Trump’s statement as race-baiting.

CEO Jonathan Greenblatt said in a tweet that the president’s answer was “astonishing,” while adding “President Trump owes America an apology or an explanation…Now!”

The Proud Boys white supremacist group immediately seized on Trump’s words and made it their online slogan.

Proud Boys organizer Joe Biggs posted after the debate that he was “standing by” and added that he got the message loud and clear that Donald Trump “basically said to go f— them up.”

“President Trump told the Proud Boys to stand by because someone needs to deal with ANTIFA… well sir! we’re ready!!” Biggs wrote.
.

A CNN political panel unilaterally admonished Trump for his choice of words, calling it a win for foreign adversaries and white supremacists who’ve long wanted to see division in America.

“MISSION ACCOMPLISHED!” is almost certainly what they’re celebrating today, the CNN panel added.
.

In conclusion, the Biden vs Trump debate turned out to be an avalanche of lying from ‘The Donald’ and an event that did not move the needle one iota with voters to cast their ballots for Trump. In fact, an instant SSRS poll taken immediately after the debate concluded that Joe Biden won the night 60% to 28%. However, the truth is not that Biden won the debate. It’s that Trump LOST the debate.

Donald Trump was rude, didn’t follow the rules, and lacked the decorum and decency voters expect from a president. Additionally, moderator Chris Wallace lost complete control of the night and was instantly chided by fellow journalists for waiting a full 1 hour and 13 minutes to call Trump on not following the rules.

As a fix, the next debate moderator should be given a mute button to turn off the microphone of anyone being disruptive and not allowing the other candidate to speak (this means YOU, Trump). He should also insist that unless the rules are followed, he will walk off the stage and end the debate.

Biden vs Trump Debate

The next debate will take place Wednesday, October 7th at the University of Utah in Salt Lake City and will be between Kamala Harris and VP Mike Pence.

As for the next Biden vs Trump debate, it will be a Town Hall format and will be staged on Thursday, October 15th at the Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts in Miami. However, the fireworks could continue when Biden and Trump meet for their final debate on Thursday, October 22nd at Belmont University in Nashville.

(Sigh…inhale). Okay….(exhale). I have a few thoughts on this but first let me say…. Thank you DJ for this post. Most of the people in my world (family members, friends, even my boss and coworkers) watched that “sh*tshow” last night. Several people called me during, and after the “sh*tshow.” To say they were distraught and angry would be an understatement. I allowed each person to vent for about a minute before I gently ended each call. Suffice it to say I did not watch any of it because I already knew what to expect.- and I told my people that days ago. The fact that it turned out just as I’d expected was of no surprise to me. Trump’s whole so-called “presidency” has been nothing but a veritable “Sh*tshow” since Day #1 and WE, right here on this site, have been calling it just that since almost day #1. What… Read more »

After 4 years of this sh*tshow of a presidency I would hope by now that most Americans recognize that Trump IS who he IS – a human-creature who lives and thrives in the deepest darkest parts of a swampworld he’s created for himself. And like any swamp creature his strategy for surviving is always to get his “enemy” into the muck with him by ANY means necessary so they choke to death.  IF Trump has mastered any skill….it’s that skill. Get your enemy to come into the swamp where you control the dynamics. Where you reside, thrive and even hide when necessary.  So now here’s the question Biden must ask himself. Does he go forth with wrestling with Trump in Trump’s swamp (there are 2 more scheduled debates)? Or not?  And make no mistake about it. Any so-called debate stage in America is a swamp-like environment for Trump….because he’ll turn it into one. Ask Chris… Read more »

Trump is so much a bully he trampled all over Chris Wallace. And Chris Wallace is usually a strong journalist. At one point he had to raise his voice and tell Trump to stop it like you yell at a child. It was real sad Truth.

‘An Epic Moment of National Shame: The Debate Was an Embarrassment for the Ages’

Excerpt:
It is hard to imagine how the evening could have been more disrespectful to voters, or a more embarrassing glimpse into the state of American political culture at moment when the country’s reputation in the world is already under severe challenge. Cumulatively this made the debate simply uncomfortable, like accidentally opening the office supply closet and seeing a naked colleague—just avert your gaze and walk away.

“That was a hot mess, inside a dumpster fire, inside a train wreck,” CNN’s Jake Tapper said on air, shortly after the candidates left the stage. “It wasn’t even a debate—it was a disgrace.” – John F. Harris, Politico writer, 9-30-20

My final thoughts…..

When I think about ALL of the chaos and loss, and sorrow, death and destruction that’s going on in my country, I am reminded of these Truths and Facts:

*About 100 million Americans decided it was just peachy to skip the 2016 presidential election altogether. So they couldn’t be bothered to vote.

*Approx 62 million Americans thought it be just peachy to play Russian Roulette (literally) with Our country and our democracy…so they voted for Trump.

“Elections have consequences.” – Pres. Obama 2009

A quick drive-by of 3 conservative right-wing sites (not extremists) and – unless I’m really misreading the consensus thus far – it looks like the human swamp creature may have done himself some real harm last night with his grotesque behavior. TAC Reader: This is a swing and a miss. So far my Facebook feed is filled with people (including a few who rarely post anything political) condemning Trump’s debate behavior. While the Trump fans among my friends are mostly silent, with one exception who said “I still love Donald Trump” which is hardly a ringing affirmation of his performance.  Trump needs to appeal to the undecided voter, to the people who voted for him in 2016 with their noses firmly held because they detected an even great stench about Hillary Clinton. Simply stroking his base accomplishes nothing, and boorish behavior simply turns off the very people he needs to vote… Read more »

It was like a damned car crash; I could not stop watching. I wanted to stop watching but I couldn’t. I agree that the debates are useless. Trump will continue to act like an ass and perform accordingly for his base without any substance. It is a waste of time.

That being said, the f*cking interviews of “undecided voters” on CNN made me want to punch the screen. They had the unmitigated gall to claim after seeing this along with everything Trump has done over the past 3+ years that they are still undecided? Fuck it. The southern strategy has won. America has been dumbed down. […]

TheRoot Reader:
The Democrats are already spinning that shitshow as a win for Biden. I’m so glad I didn’t waste my time. From the news I’ve read and the highlights I saw, it was just as dumb and depressing as I expected. All of it was absolutely predictable and childish. Last night was the old white man version of the dozens.

And f*ck the Democrats for still pushing the false narrative of magical, mythical, white unicorns they call “undecided”/”swing voters.” In this election more than any, there’s no such thing. […]

Mr.BD

Oh brother I do not know how I sat through that thing last night. But DJ is right it was a s–t show. Joe Biden never had a chance to win or lose it because Trump was always talking over him so nobody could hear him. Trump was red in the face and mad from the time he came out there. It was like he had a whole lot to prove and take out on Joe. That debate was useless and I think Joe Biden should walk away from them and not do anymore. Most of us already know who Trump is and he proved it now. There is nothing else that should be seen.

Mr.BD

That is a good point about the proud boys. Trump refuse to denounce white supremacists or say he would accept the election result. He told these white boy racists to to stand by. Stand by for what? Is he planning a race war in the street or something? Then he told people to go be poll watchers which is really just intimidation to voters. I see now the CIA or military or somebody is going to have to take care of this because he is out of control.

Truthiz1

[Trump refuse to denounce white supremacists or say he would accept the election result. He told these white boy racists to to stand by. Stand by for what? Is he planning a race war in the street or something? ]

Yes BD. He would rather see this country torn to shreds and burned to the ground by his cultish followers than to peacefully concede the election. Now mind you, he’s too much of a coward to actually INSTRUCT his mindless minions (fake soldiers of war with guns) to burn the country down. He talks in code. And trust and believe white supremacists and white nativists…(I’ve stopped calling them nationalists because they don’t really give a fig about this country)…white nativist HEAR his messages very clearly!

The problem for Trump and the all out “Race War” that he and his white nativists ilk are consumed by in the feverish swamps of their tortured and twisted minds is this. (and I’ve said this before)……..

This is the year 2020. Not 1720. Or 1820. Or 1920. It ain’t 1964 or 68 or even the year 2000. It’s 2020.

The majority of white Americans may still accept their white privileges by default. But I do not believe the majority of white Americans are willing to take up arms against their Black and brown brothers and sisters and destroy the very country that They say (and We say) that We ALL love and have sworn Our allegiance to.

Nope. I do NOT believe it. And I hope and pray that I am not wrong about this.

(CNN) The fact that Tuesday night’s debate in Cleveland was more of a crash than a clash will no doubt dominate the media coverage and people’s memory of the event. No matter how much we would like to wipe the image of that disgraceful spectacle from our consciousness, the indelible stain of a President of the United States behaving like a juvenile delinquent initiating a food fight will be tough to erase. But what may get overlooked amid the pandemonium that erupted at the first of three showdowns between former Vice President Joe Biden and President Donald Trump was the stark contrast in the two candidates’ body language. From the opening bell, Biden strode to the lectern with a sense of purpose. Ironically, Trump was the one who seemed sleepy and slow, lumbering onto the stage with all the enthusiasm and excitement of a root canal patient entering the dentist’s office. The… Read more »

The minute 45 refused to condemn white supremacy and groups like the Proud Boys the debate was over. Nothing else mattered past that.
