To answer your question, to say "Black Lives Matter" does not imply that the word "ONLY" is in front of the slogan — it simply means that with the back to back killing of dozens of black men and women, particularly at the hands of police, a focus on black lives was/is necessary.

For example, the charity "Feed The Children" does not imply that ONLY children should eat and everyone else should starve. To say "Let's Fight Cancer" does not imply that every other disease should be ignored. We target causes in society quite frequently, which is the norm.

Yes, of course, ALL lives do matter. However, just like feeding the "children" or fighting "cancer," a focus was put on reminding society that the targeted killing of black lives (in particular) would not be tolerated. THAT is the true definition of "Black Lives Matter," or to put it another way: ALL LIVES MATTER…but in these trying times, be reminded that BLACK LIVES MATTER too.

Why can it be all lives matter? We are all human beings, created by the same God, and when we all bleed, we bleed the same color blood. It is a shame that we created our own diversity with hate toward each other. It is enough that we have a two party war in the government and there seems to be no stopping point. Let's work together to make America a better place to live.rich

They should change the name then…maybe to something like *blacklivesonlymatterwhentakenbycop*…when I hear blacklivesmatter i wish it meant black lives matter no matter who takes that black life…and honestly we as black people should put more value in our black lives so there should be a lot more outrage when a black life takes a black life…[…]

"Angry Mom Calls BS on #BlackLivesMatter, Points Out Double Standard"

Peggy Hubbard is tired of hearing about the same stories in the news: The death of a black person due to violence. While that might inspire a good amount of people to raise the #BlackLivesMatter banner, this St. Louis native says not so fast.

“You black people, my black people are the f—ing most violent motherf—ers I’ve ever seen in my life,” says Hubbard.

Her six minute video on her Facebook page comes in response to the police shooting of an 18-year-old St. Louis teen and the swift call to protest alleged brutality by officers. Cops fatally shot Mansur Ball-Bey after they tried to issue a search warrant. While there’s still question as to whether or not he had a gun (police say he pointed one at them), protesters assembled in the streets for yet another incident involving blacks and white cops.

Shortly after Mansur’s death, a 9-year-old girl in Ferguson was killed by a stray bullet while doing her homework. Clearly upset in her video, Peggy wants to know where the public outcry was for this young girl’s life when everyone seemed more focused on who she calls a “thug” who challenged the cops — especially when those (in her opinion) who support the #BlackLivesMatter movement don’t seem as interested in the black-on-black crime tearing through neighborhoods.

“Police brutality? How about black brutality,” adds Hubbard. “You’re hollering this black lives matter bulls— while you’re killing each other.” [….]
