A growing demographic of Blacks for Trump is causing grave concern for the 2024 presidential election.
Top News Today :
Traditionally, Black Americans have widely supported Democratic candidates for president. Or, some have stayed home and either forgotten or purposely refused to vote for anyone. However, Democrats are beginning to sound the alarm over news that African-American voters are joining the Trump/MAGA bandwagon in shocking numbers.
According to a new poll conducted by The New York Times and Sienna College, Black voters — long a bulwark for Democrats and for President Joe Biden — are now registering 22% support for Donald Trump in such battleground states as Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, Nevada, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin. This coincides with a CNN Poll from September which discovered that Mr. Biden was surprisingly losing ground among Black voters.
In fact, the poll states that if the election were held today, Trump would beat Biden 52% to 41% in Nevada, 49% to 43% in Georgia, 49% to 44% in Arizona, 48% to 43% in Michigan, and 48% to 44% in Pennsylvania.
These numbers are unprecedented for a Republican presidential candidate among Black voters in modern times.
So, what’s behind this new ‘Blacks for Trump’ movement and their infatuation with the MAGA agenda?
Some Black voters listed President Biden’s age as a negative (although Mr. Biden is only 3 years older than Donald Trump). Others said they trusted Trump more than Biden on the economy, foreign policy, and immigration. However, it appears that a trend to go against the grain, Trump’s “bad-ass” image, as well as overall ignorance of how a 2nd Trump term could set America (and, specifically, Black Americans) back by decades, is widely to blame for this magical Blacks for Trump crusade.
Last weekend, former NFL players and twin brothers Maurkice and Mike Pouncey were photographed at Mar-a-Lago smiling while waiting “to see Trump.” About a week earlier, rappers Waka Flocka Flame and Sexyy Red became the most recent members of the hip-hop community to express solidarity with and support for Trump. They, of course, join Kanye West, Ice Cube, Lil Wayne, 50 Cent, and 6ix9ine on the Trump/MAGA train.
According to Donald Trump, he believes his mugshot after being indicted for trying to overturn the 2020 election in Fulton County, Georgia is what “quadrupled” his support among Black voters. Some have called his opinion “a racist narrative” that was introduced by conservatives who believe Blacks love criminality and commiserate with Trump out of shared victimization from an unfair criminal justice system. However, others are correctly questioning why the growing Blacks for Trump movement is primarily made up of younger African-Americans who are either active members of the hip-hop community or greatly identify with it.
Should there be cause for concern with the presidential election about a year away?
“Coming off those historic midterms, President Biden’s campaign is hard at work reaching and mobilizing our diverse, winning coalition of voters one year out on the choice between our winning, popular agenda and MAGA Republicans’ unpopular extremism,” Biden campaign spokesperson Kevin Muñoz said in a statement. “We’ll win in 2024 by putting our heads down and doing the work, not by fretting about a poll.”
However, David Axelrod, who served as a senior advisor to President Barack Obama, is saying that the poll numbers are so disturbing that he now believes Mr. Biden should drop out of the race and allow some other Democrat to seize the nomination.
“Trump is a dangerous, unhinged demagogue whose brazen disdain for the rules, [norms], laws and institutions of democracy should be disqualifying,” Axelrod tweeted on Sunday. “But the stakes of miscalculation here are too dramatic to ignore.
“Only @JoeBiden can make this decision,” he continued. “If he continues to run, he will be the nominee of the Democratic Party. What he needs to decide is whether that is wise; whether it’s in HIS best interest or the country’s?”
It’s very late to change horses; a lot will happen in the next year that no one can predict & Biden’s team says his resolve to run is firm.

He’s defied CW before but this will send tremors of doubt thru the party–not “bed-wetting,” but legitimate concern. https://t.co/g6zeWF0T87
Is this new ‘Blacks for Trump’ shift merely a fad that won’t end up affecting the actual numbers of Black support for Mr. Biden? Is President Biden’s age and perception of being “old” a big enough concern that Democrats should address sooner than later? Or, is Joe Biden still the Democrat with the best chance of beating Donald Trump in 2024?
OK WASSUP! discusses the Top News Today:
The growing concern of Blacks for Trump.
Regular readers know how I feel about polls. Given their track record since Obama ran in 2008, I generally pay them no mind. And their predictions have gone down hill from there, the most recent being the 2022 Midterm elections. The Republican “Red Wave” or “Red Tsunami” that was a sure thing..(rolling my eyes)..Lol.
The results didn’t even amount to a Red trickle. But 2 days later there they were, cable news, right back at it…shoving bullsh*t polls in our faces…smh!
