Boston Bombing

Terrorism has struck Boston.  So who’s responsible?

Local officials and the FBI are considering all options, after 2 bombs exploded at the finish line of the Boston Marathon yesterday.

At least 3 people are dead and 132 are injured, following the 2:50pm explosion in Copley Square.  Bombs were also discovered at several other locations across the city, including the popular Boylston St. area and at the JFK Library.

Spectators reported hearing a “big boom” that knocked marathon runners to the ground.  They also saw a “giant plume of smoke” that caused widespread panic and sent everyone in the area fleeing for safety. Gov. Deval Patrick placed Boston on immediate Level 1 security, requiring everyone at work to stay at work and everyone at home to stay at home.

No credible threat was given in advance of the bombing and as of this writing, no one or no group has claimed responsibility.  Officials are researching video footage of the event and interviewing those in the area to determine if this act of terrorism was foreign or domestic.

Washington, DC, New York and Los Angeles each increased security at bridges and public areas following the blasts. As a precaution, the FAA halted all flights over Boston and the Office of Homeland Security extended the perimeter around the White House.

President Obama spoke via news conference following the explosion and cautioned a fearful nation not to jump to conclusions “until we have all the facts.” He also vowed: “Any responsible individuals, any responsible groups, will feel the full weight of justice.”

"So who's responsible?"

Well. I suspect that domestic terrorism is to blame. But time will tell.
