Which brings me to my conflicted feelings about the very public commemoration, that seemed to be on full display ALL DAY yesterday. I won't lie. I find the tendency of Americans to need such public displays of PRODUCTION, regarding how *We* as a nation remember such tragedies, MORE than a little disturbing.

The media loves such productions but there are survivors out there who are in no shape (physically or mentally) to deal with such commemorations. It's like experiencing PTSD. They struggle just to get from day to day without falling apart. Some no doubt have turned to drugs. Some to alcohol. Some have simply opted to withdraw from life altogether. Banters of "Boston Strong" means pretty much nothing to them.

To wake up, turn on the news and see it all play out again ALL DAY LONG (even if for just one day) can trigger all kinds of painful flashbacks and severe anxiety.

Probably good for ratings. But at what cost to survivors and family members?

I wish them peace of heart and mind to know that we are keeping them in our thoughts and prayers.

I remember seeing the video and thinking how could someone do this? I hope that the families find peace knowing that we are standing strong with them.
