Boston Picks Up The Pieces
In the aftermath of Monday’s deadly bombing in Boston, officials are still looking for answers and Bostonians are beginning the process of mourning and healing.
Authorities still don’t know who was responsible for the surprise bombing or why. They are speculating it was an act of domestic terrorism, since foreign threats like al-Qaida have traditionally been quick to claim ownership of their actions. But this time there was no advance threat. There are no suspects. Officials are baffled!
What is known is that 2 pressure cookers were discovered to be the source of the bombs. Each was filled with explosives, as well as BB pellets and nails so as to cause maximum damage and injury.
Scores of spectators were seriously injured and some were even forced to have their damaged limbs amputated. Others lost their lives, including 8-year-old Martin Richard, who gave a hug to his dad as he crossed the marathon finish line just as the bomb exploded. His babysitter said she will always remember him as “just an all-around wonderful kid with a big, bright smile that no one could ever forget.”
There was also 29-year-old Krystle Campbell, who her grandmother recalled as “fun, outgoing and always there to help somebody.”
The 3rd fatality was a Boston University graduate student from China — whom the school and Chinese consulate declined to identify by name. According to social media, she graduated from a Chinese university with a degree in international economics and was set to earn her master’s degree in mathematics and statistics in 2014.
Authorities are pleading for the public to help them in securing answers that will hopefully lead to the arrest of the perpetrator. The FBI is requesting that anyone with photographs, videos, eyewitness accounts or information regarding known threats should contact them immediately.
I do believe it's just a matter of time before they find out Who did this and Why…though I think the "why?" is easier to answer. The person(s) obviously is filled with hate and sought to get revenge (through violent action against the greater community) for some percieved offense he/they feels was inflicted upon him/them.
