BURRIS TO BYPASS 2010

Spread The Love
It seems half a term is good enough for Roland Burris.  The political joke turned Illinois senator  Burris, who was appointed by former Gov. Rod Blagojevich to fill the seat vacated by Barack Obama, has announced he will not seek re-election in 2010.  This is incredibly good news for Illinois Democrats, who believe they can hold on to the seat by getting the controversial Burris out and a legitimate candidate in.  Roland Burris is known for building a huge mausoleum for himself at a Chicago cemetery, etched with his every accomplishment to memorialize himself at the time of his death.  Many say he only wanted the Senate appointment just so he could add the coveted title to his marble resume.  Now that his goal has been accomplished, Burris can step down without having to actually do anything as a Senator, freeing him to look for other titles he can etch into his own stone.
