The school district of Arlington, Texas was one of the loudest and most vocal critics against President Obama speaking to their kids last week in a nationwide presidential address to America’s children. Parents in Arlington were up in arms, saying they did not want their kids exposed to a politician who could potentially “brainwash” them with his ideology. But sit down now, because you’re not gonna believe this: Those SAME parents and that SAME school district have booked a field trip to bus those SAME students to hear a speech by former President George W. Bush in Dallas. So a speech by President Obama is “brainwashing” but a speech by former President Bush is A GREAT IDEA! Hmmm…Are you getting the rather obvious point here???
Dr. Martin Luther King: “Nothing in the world is more dangerous than sincere ignorance and conscientious stupidity." I would add to that:…rational racism, bold bigotry and noble Hatred. Simply put, NOTHING in the world is MORE dangerous than Extremists of any socio/political/cultural persuasion.
