BYE BYE BECK
Conservative and sometimes crazed FOX NEWS television host Glenn Beck received a surprise Monday, after returning to the network from a brief vacation. The host of THE GLENN BECK PROGRAM was told that advertisers have become so disenchanted with Beck’s constant berating of President Barack Obama (particularly Beck’s calls that Mr. Obama is a racist and hates white people), they have chosen to permanently pull their ads from his television program.

A total of 33 Fox advertisers, including Walmart, CVS Caremark, Clorox and Sprint, have decided not to air commercials on Beck’s show, according to ColorOfChange.org, a political action group that launched a successful campaign to get advertisers to abandon him. According to ColorOfChange the amount of advertisers who have now abandoned Glenn Beck is up more than a dozen from just a week ago. The Clorox Co., a former Beck advertiser, said on Monday “we do not want to be associated with inflammatory speech used by either liberal or conservative talk show hosts,” and has decided not to advertise on political talk shows all together, joining a list of advertisers becoming increasingly skittish about being connected with the most controversial and opinionated cable TV shows.

Rich Hallabran, spokesman for UPS Stores, has temporarily halted buying ads on Fox News Channel as a whole. And CVS has told its advertising agency to inform Fox it wanted no commercials on the Glenn Beck program whatsoever. “We support vigorous debate, especially around policy issues that affect millions of Americans, but we expect it to be informed, inclusive and respectful,” said spokeswoman Carolyn Castel.
