CALLING IN THE CAVALRY

Spread The Love

After a summer of conservatives seizing the headlines with their Town Hall antics and Tea Party demonstrations, President Obama has had enough, and decided to bring in a little “Blue-Collar back-up” with the help from his friends at organized labor.  Speaking at the AFL-CIO annual convention in Pittsburgh on Tuesday, the President delivered a fiercely worded speech, tying health care reform into his  promise to rebuild the middle class and blue-collar America.  And his call to the cavalry was highly received with renewed energy to fight for health care reform for the everyday citizen.

Mr. Obama fired up the crowd of primarily his staunchest base, in one of several campaign style events scheduled this week to promote fixing health care.  And unlike the negative shout he received from the House floor last week during his speech to Congress, there was nothing but amour in the air as a woman in the crowd screamed “I love you.”  Without missing a beat, the President responded “I love you back, sister!”  to the delight of everyone in attendance. Mr. Obama received one of his largest applause moments of the day when he told the crowd: “Few have fought for this cause harder, few have championed it longer than you, our brothers and sisters in organized labor. You’re making phone calls, knocking on doors, showing up at rallies — because you know why this is so important. You know this isn’t just about the millions of Americans who don’t have health insurance, it’s about the hundreds of millions more who do.”  WATCH:
