Camille Cosby Stands By Her Man

For months, the world has wondered if Camille Cosby was affected by charges that her husband, Bill Cosby, drugged women for the purpose of having sex with them. Now, the world has its answer:  Not only is Mrs. Cosby unaffected by the charges, but she’s known about his cheating ways for years — AND she believes the women consented to the drugs and the sex!

Following last week’s admission by Bill Cosby via court docs that he did in fact drug women for sex, Mrs. Cosby has since proven she is either delusional or in complete denial.  “They are making him out to be such a bad guy, a monster,” she was quoted as saying.

“Camille still doesn’t believe that Bill provided drugs and had sex with women without their consent,” said a source employed by the Cosby family. “She’s well aware of his cheating, but she doesn’t believe that her husband is a rapist.” Hmmm…

Mrs. Cosby is “a proud, dignified but stubborn woman,” the source added. “You can say that she’s standing by her husband, but really, the more people stand against him, the more she perceives it as an affront to her and all that she’s done to make him a star.”

In addition to being his wife, Camille Cosby is also her husband’s business manager.  So, it’s only natural to wonder if she’s playing the role of a doting wife, or merely a savvy business manager salvaging the career of her star client.

Last week, Camille Cosby demanded at a crisis meeting with advisers that their lawyers and public relations employees “get back out in front of this.”

“People are jumping ship,” she added, referring to singer Jill Scott and comedian Jimmy Walker, both of whom publicly defended Cosby, but have since withdrawn their support in light of his court admission.

“I created him, I knew what I was getting and we’ll fix this,” she told those gathered for the meeting at the couple’s home.

Advisers have since urged Bill Cosby to sever ties with virtually everyone and to basically call it a career, by permanently halting any attempts at a comeback.

“It’s advisable that you close ranks. That means [cut off] family, Hollywood family, friends, Hollywood friends,” Cosby was reportedly told in the meeting.

So, why has Camille Cosby remained by Bill’s side, despite his decades of cheating?

She “stopped being embarrassed long ago” by her husband’s sexual affairs, the family source said.  “But what she cannot tolerate is the invasion of privacy.”

The infidelities were “personal, between Bill and I,” Camille Cosby told her close circle. “You have to allow for space to let your partner do what he wants. I have done that and [Bill] has done that and there’s no jealously, no friction.”

Mrs. Cosby also said the couple often goes through an “evaluation period” to determine whether the marriage should continue. “She even once talked to Oprah Winfrey about cleansing herself of baggage every now and again and how it always seems to lead her back to staying with Bill,” the family source said.  Yet, she has chosen time and again to stay with him.

Is Camille Cosby an emotionally stupid woman?  Or has her intimate love for the man she married disappeared long ago, and been replaced by the role of a woman happy with her life as a millionaire and manager of one of the worlds (previously) most beloved people?

No one really knows — except Camille Cosby.
