CASEY ANTHONY JURORS SPEAK OUT
Jurors in the Casey Anthony murder trial are beginning to speak out, following the controversial not guilty verdict they returned last week.
Juror #3 is 32-year-old nursing student Jennifer Ford, who said in a recent TV interview that “I did not say she was innocent. I just said there was not enough evidence.” She added that jury members were “sick to our stomach to get that verdict” but wanted it known there just wasn’t enough evidence for a conviction. “In our country … we have to prove it. You can’t just be like, ‘Yeah that really looks bad. Smells bad. Looks bad.’ I get that. It does: smells bad, looks bad. I get that. But it’s someone else’s life, and if I’m wrong, and I kill someone else? I can’t live with that,” she said, referring to the hesitation she felt in reaching a guilty verdict, which would have almost certainly meant the death penalty for Anthony.
Juror #2, who wished to remain anonymous, made it clear he personally believed Anthony was guilty, but said “We just wanted to go on the evidence that was presented to us.” Overcome with tears, he added “I just swear to God …, I wish we had more evidence to put her away. I truly do.”
The general consensus among the jury pool is that the prosecution did not prove how little Caylee Anthony died, or why Casey Anthony would have killed her. But in a recent CNN interview, former O.J. Simpson prosecutor Marcia Clark, said she thought the jury erred in their verdict and may have misunderstood their role. She pointed out that hundreds of convictions are reached each year, even when the body or murder weapon is missing. So according to Clark, if the jury believed prosecutors had to show exactly what was going on inside the head of Casey Anthony to make her commit murder, they were sorely mistaken.
Casey Anthony will be freed from prison next Sunday, July 17th, when she will begin a life of riches in the sale of her first televised interview, as well as her story for a book and movie deal. But as for little Caylee Anthony, whose life tragically ended far too soon, it appears the avenge of her death will never be realized.
I don't know DJ. I think the public is real against her right about now. She might make some fast money off a tv interview. But nobody is gonna support her any other way. Plus your right that her safety is in danger. Still smh on that verdict though.
