CHARLIE SHEEN BOMBS ON STAGE

Well, the circus has come to town.  But the Charlie Sheen stage show is already a colossal failure.

The actor opened his live stage show over the weekend in Detroit, but boos, walk-outs and refund demands forced him to abruptly end the performance less than an hour into it.

Sheen took to the stage appearing to use a script and seeming perplexed by what he was doing or why he was doing it, saying, “Is anybody else as confused by this sh*t as I am?” He opened by showing clips from films made by his father, actor Martin Sheen, hoping to warm up the crowd. Then he followed with a clip from the old movie RPG, which he wrote and directed and stars Johnny Depp. When that didn’t work, he admitted, “All right so RPG’s a bomb. Whatever. Tonight’s an experiment.”

Sheen then asked the audience to shout out what they wanted to hear from him.  But when someone suggested he tell AA stories, Sheen refused, calling it a boring subject.  He preferred to talk about crack instead, telling the audience “I figured Detroit was a good place to tell crack stories.” 

By then the audience had had enough, and bombarded Sheen with loud boos and shouts of “You suck!” With the crowd obviously turned against him, Sheen was forced to shut the show down.  He called for a music break then disappeared for the night after less than an hour on stage, as audience members cheered at the opportunity to leave early without having to sit through another wretched moment.

As for what will happen with the remainder of Sheen’s shows, no one knows.  But for this train wreck without direction or purpose, combined with unbelievably low ticket sales (ticket brokers originally bought up all the tickets, but have been unable to resell them), this show seems DOA — Dead On Arrival!
