Chavez In Permanent Glass Display
Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez may have passed away last week, but his presence will be around for an eternity.
Chavez was embalmed for his funeral last Friday. He was then placed in a glass coffin that will preserve his corpse to be on display for infinity.
Acting President Nicolas Maduro said Chavez will lie in state first for at least another 7 days, then his remains will be put on permanent display at the Museum of the Revolution, close to the presidential palace where Chavez ruled for 14 years.
Chavez now joins a small list of socialist leaders who have also been put on permanent display in glass caskets, including Soviet Union founder Vladimir Lenin in 1924, Joseph Stalin in 1953, and Mao Zedong of China.
