Christian Choir Criticized For Airline Concert
A man and his enthusiastic Christian choir are under fire today after delivering an impromptu concert of hymns at 30,000 feet — a performance that no one requested or wanted.
Christianity
At some point during the recent EasyJet flight, Jonathan Neo was apparently feeling all “Easter-ly.” So, he grabbed his guitar from the overhead bin, stood in the middle of the aisle, and began singing songs about Jesus. Several missionaries from Kingdom Realm Ministries traveling with Neo also partook in the singing and even encouraged other Christian travelers to join in.
As expected, this story has since gone viral across social media with varying degrees of support and disgust.
Several passengers openly complained that because they were locked inside the moving jet, they were a captive audience and unable to escape. Naturally, some readers agreed.
“Nope. I’d be pulling the exit door open,” tweeted Ryan James Dee.

Others suggested it was a beautiful tribute to God, even celebrating the video proof by posting: “Worshipping Jesus 30,000 feet in the air.”
Some commenters rightfully reminded others that had they been on the flight and suddenly burst out into a rap song or played music on their iPhone for others to hear, they would have been immediately told to sit down and shut up.
However, it was Rep. Ilhan Omar of Minnesota who wins the prize for the most authentic and sensible remark.
“I think my family and I should have a prayer session next time I am on a plane. How do you think it will end?” she tweeted to raucous applause.

Yes, if a Muslim or Buddhist began openly displaying their faith on a plane, they would have been arrested — unlike this group from the Christian choir who was clearly being given preferential treatment despite disturbing a multitude of passengers.
Video of the Christian choir has since broken the internet with commentary.
“As a person of faith, I implore you: don’t do this. St. Francis of Assisi said it best: preach the gospel every day, and only if you have to, use words. This kind of thing just turns people off, and rightly so,” one person said.
“They did this knowing it would annoy people. If nobody complained then they would say to their young followers ‘people love it when you stand up for God,’ and if it went poorly they would say ‘look how much people hate Christianity, we need to stand up for God,’” another commenter added.
Why is it that Christians can stand up on a plane, inside a mall, or anywhere they choose to sing hymns and “praise Jesus,” while other religions would be instantly demonized for doing the same with their own faith in public?
Can anybody spell DOUBLE STANDARD??
OK WASSUP! discusses Christianity:

Wow! I had not heard about this DJ. Thanks for posting about it!
Btw – Where have I heard of an extremist fundamentalist religious group trying to nationalize their form of “religion” to force it down everyone else’s throat? /rhetorical question
Oh I know. The Taliban.
Seriously, I’m a woman of Faith who comes from a deeply religious (“Christian”) family and we DON’T identify with these dangerous right-wing ChristiaNIST clowns at all (I refuse to call them Christians). In fact, THIS little theocratic stunt is pretty darn disgusting!
And EasyJet should be taken to task for allowing ANY such thing to take place in the first place!
