Get ready, America. It’s Election Day 2024 and a day government officials are preparing for and expecting to be a time of civil unrest.

Once upon a time, the United States of America held elections, ballots were counted, a winner was determined, the candidate who came up short of victory graciously conceded, and the country moved forward. And then, Donald Trump showed up and proved that he is a sore loser and too small of a man to accept anything other than a victory for himself.
Trump first introduced his claims of fake ballots and widespread cheating during his run for president in 2016. However, the moment he won that election, he miraculously went silent about cheating and never mentioned it again. Then, in 2020, Trump renewed his claims of widespread cheating. He even instigated a belief that mail-in ballots and early voting were rife with fraud and couldn’t be trusted. When he lost that election, the self-centered Trump couldn’t accept the embarrassment and provoked an angry mob of his MAGA sycophants to stage an insurrection at the US Capitol, to seek to assassinate his own vice president for failing to do his bidding, and to challenge democracy in a way the nation hasn’t seen since the civil war.
The US didn’t expect the deadly civil unrest we all saw in 2020. However, officials are more than prepared for a repeat this time around.
According to The Washington Post, the US Secret Service has gone on high alert for Vice President Harris and Donald Trump. Additionally, Washington, DC has remade itself into a war zone over the past few days by installing riot fencing around government buildings, boarding up businesses in shopping districts, and suggesting that residents hunker down in preparation for the worst.

“Rings of new security fencing enveloped the White House, US Capitol and Vice President Kamala Harris’s residence on Sunday as federal and District authorities braced for potential unrest in Washington following Tuesday’s presidential election,” the Post reported on Sunday.
“A work crew was seen installing anti-climb fencing outside Vice President Kamala Harris’ federal home at the Naval Observatory,” the Washington Times said. “The Democrat presidential candidate’s residence already has a wrought-iron fence and a security station at the front gate, but crews added the special fence along most of the property’s perimeter lining Massachusetts Avenue Northwest.”

As if that wasn’t enough, fencing around The White House was reinforced with barbed wire. The statue of Andrew Jackson inside Lafayette Square, which has been a popular target for vandals during past protests, has now been enclosed with fencing. Multiple office and retail buildings were boarded up just west of the White House on Pennsylvania Avenue. An office building that houses a US Post Office constructed an entire front facade with sturdy wooden planks as protection for the building. Other businesses in the area were so thoroughly boarded up that signs had to be installed to ensure customers they were open.
Interestingly, preparation for possible civil unrest has not been exclusive to Washington, DC.
According to Forbes, polling places and vote tabulation centers, particularly in battleground states, have adopted unprecedented security measures — including snipers, bulletproof glass, and “panic buttons” — as election workers brace for potential unrest, fearing an election denial movement that has reportedly grown more organized since the last presidential election.
On Monday, Pennsylvania Attorney General Michelle Henry joined a bipartisan group of state attorneys general in calling for a peaceful response to the 2024 election results. However, it was Philadelphia District Attorney Larry Krasner who garnered the most attention with his warning.
“I also want to be clear –- anybody who thinks it’s time to play militia: F around and find out. Anybody who thinks it’s time to insult, to deride, to mistreat, to threaten people: F around and find out. We do have the cuffs, we do have the jail cells, we do have the Philly juries and we have the state prisons. So if you’re going to try to turn an election into some form of coercion, if you’re going to try to bully people … you’re going to try to erase votes, you’re going to try any of that nonsense – we’re not playing,” Krasner said.
It’s a sad truth that in 2024, US elections have become a time of potential civil unrest. However, thanks to Donald Trump, that is America’s new reality.

Look. I’ve been saying since a week after the Jan 6th insurrection (when literally THREE of those fools showed up for the “Insurrection Part II” that their NOT so brave leaders had threatened would indeed take place)..Uh-Oh! They know they Effed Up!
The fallout has been disastrous for many of them and they know Trump doesn’t have their backs!
