Clive Davis: “I’m Bisexual”
Legendary music mogul and impresario Clive Davis has gone public with some rather personal information that many behind the music scenes have known for years — he is bisexual!
In his new autobiography, “The Sound Track of My Life,” Davis revealed that after the end of his 2nd marriage in 1985, he starting being sexually involved with men. At first his affiliations involved both men and women, but for the past 20 years Davis has been involved with 2 male partners — a 13 year relationship with a doctor and a 7 year relationship with another man he chose not to name.
In a recent interview, Davis acknowledged that bisexuality is “maligned and misunderstood” but that it is his truth and it was time for him to say so publicly.
”[Bisexuality] does exist,” Davis said. “For over 50 years I never had sex with a male. It wasn’t repressed. I had very good sexual relationships with women.”
Davis also used a portion of his book to administer a public whipping to singer Kelly Clarkson, which is proof of their very volatile relationship.
“It’s clear that Kelly Clarkson has a decidedly independent streak, to say the least, and often speaks in public before she realizes the implications of what she’s saying,” he wrote in the book.
But Clarkson did not take Davis’ words lying down and called him a bully while responding to his critique of her.
“So I just heard Clive Davis is releasing a memoir and spreading false information about me and my music,” Clarkson wrote on her WhoSay page. “I refuse to be bullied and I just have to clear up his memory lapses and misinformation for myself and for my fans. It feels like a violation. Growing up is awesome because you learn you don’t have to cower to anyone — even Clive Davis.”
Ouch!
