Police are still wondering why 21-year-old Ahmad Al Aliwi Alissa of Denver walked into the King Soopers Supermarket and began shooting, killing innocent bystanders ranging in age from 20 to 65.
The brother of the accused shooter suspects mental illness is behind the shooting spree, however, authorities are not yet speculating.
According to eyewitness Ryan Borowski, he was grabbing a bag of chips and a soda when he heard the 1st in a series of gunshots and saw a terrified woman running toward him. By the 3rd shot, he was running with her toward the back of the store. They and others gathered with employees in the back.
“I saw a lot of very wide eyes. … The employees in the back of the house didn’t know what was going on, so we told them that there was a shooter, and they told us where the exit was,” he told CNN on Tuesday.
“I promise that all of us here will work tirelessly … to make sure that the killer is held absolutely and fully accountable for what he did,” Boulder County District Attorney Michael Dougherty said Tuesday during a news conference.
The names of the 10 Colorado terrorism shooting victims were released late Monday night. They are: Denny Stong, 20; Neven Stanisic, 23; Rikki Olds, 25; Tralona Bartkowiak, 49; Suzanne Fountain, 59; Teri Leiker, 51; Kevin Mahoney, 61; Lynn Murray, 62; Jody Waters, 65.
Boulder police Officer Eric Talley, 51, also died on the scene. Tally was the first to respond to the Colorado terrorism melee and exchanged gunfire with Alissa before being killed.
President Biden offered condolences to the victims and their families and also called on Congress to enact stronger gun control laws.
Interestingly, this is the 2nd mass shooting in the US within just a few days, following the Atlanta massage parlor murders from last week.

In light of what we’ve learned thus far about the shooter (and if true) then I don’t think there’s any doubt that mental illness played a key role in this tragedy.
However I must start with the most obvious reason it happened -meaning the #1 cause of this (yet another) mass shooting tragedy. Easy access to Guns. Lots and lots of Guns.
WE are the only so-called “civilized’ nation on earth where such reprehensible Madness (easy access to tons of guns and ammunition) is somehow considered some “God-given” right and also intelligent!?! When in fact it’s neither.
It’s insane. It’s unintelligent. And it’s pure Evil. It’s also rooted in the White man’s FEAR of every d*mn thing. I would posit that America’s gun-rights laws reflect that Truth and their Fear.
