FBI Director James Comey has spoken. Donald Trump is in fact under investigation for colluding with Russia to hack the 2016 presidential election. Is this the smoking gun that rises to the level of high crimes and misdemeanors to impeach Donald Trump?

On Monday, Comey testified before the House Intelligence Committee with words that have rocked the political world and totally humiliated Donald Trump. Yes, Trump and his cronies are currently under investigation by the FBI for working with a foreign government to fix a US presidential election. No, Barack Obama did not wiretap Trump.
Proving that he is indeed a bonafide circus clown and not the true leader of the free world, Donald Trump refused to admit he was wrong and has instead quadrupled down on his outlandish claims against his predecessor. He once again took to his social media play toy of choice (Twitter) and once again reiterated his nonsensical allegation that Barack Obama committed a crime and had his “wires tapped.”
To date, the FBI, the CIA, the NSA, congressional members on both sides of the aisle, and Barack Obama himself have all rebuked such malarky and made it crystal clear that no such wiretapping ever occurred. However, Donald Trump remains the ONLY person who has ever claimed it did and remains the only person still doing so.
Then, Trump took to Twitter to denounce the most serious and embarrassing allegation against him: collusion with Russia.
“James Clapper and others stated that there is no evidence Potus colluded with Russia. This story is FAKE NEWS and everyone knows it!” Trump posted.
Sorry, Donald. This is not fake news concocted by the Democrats as a political ploy. The testimony from Director Comey is not “fake.” No matter how much you tweet, you cannot change the fact that your own national intelligence team is actively attempting to determine if a foreign power tried to manipulate our election. No amount of tweets, no amount of twisting of words from your mouthpiece (Sean Spicer), and no amount of political spin by Fox News or Breitbart can successfully discount or conceal the reality. Both James Comey and National Security Agency chief Michael S. Rogers have now painted a very bleak picture.
Although the Comey statement was not surprising, it was quite devastating. The head of the FBI basically called the President of the United States a liar and a potential conspirator in an international election hacking scheme. That act is not only humiliating for the chief executive but virtually unprecedented in American politics.
Donald Trump lied about Barack Obama spying on him. Donald Trump lied about the British government being a participant in any efforts for Barack Obama to spy on him. Now, Donald Trump may have lied about colluding with the Russian government to hack the US presidential election to his favor.
As the old saying goes, “Where there’s smoke, there’s fire.” From the words and actions of James Comey, there appears to be so much smoke, fire alarms may begin to go off any minute now.

And let's be frank. Most people (including Trump supporters) knew both claims were LIES from the jump.
Still, it was necessary to get confirmation from officials who are in the position to know the Truth …and have them state so, unequivocally, in front of the nation and the entire world.
How many times have we said it right here on this site? He's a pathological liar.. he's also pathologically impulsive AND temperamentally and mentally Unfit for the job. But there he sits. In the White House (sigh)!.

The investigation is going to take time and Comey himself, has NO clean hands here. The fact that Trump and company have been under investigation since LAST JULY speaks to the very troubling actions of Comey against Hillary in the lead-up to the actual election day, while he said NOT a word to the American people about Trump being investigated.
The truth is this…………
On election day only One of the presidential candidates had been cleared of any wrong-doing. Hillary Clinton.
While the other candidate was AND REMAINS under federal investigation. Donald J. Trump.
Whether having that critical info be made public would've changed the final outcome? No one knows.
But i strongly feel that "WE The People" still had a right to know.
The thing that stood out to me about the whole hearing is Repubs kept playing politics. This isn't a Democrat or Repub issues. This is a national security issue that could happen again. But instead Repubs sat back and tried to protect their boy. Stop being Repubs for five minutes and be American. Like DJ said this is a act of war from a enemy. The way they took all that lightly really pissed me off.
BD, you're not alone in your anger concerning the shameful and "tone-deaf" manner the Repubs behaved during yesterday's hearing.
I was off work today recovering from knee injury and I caught a bit of Joe (Scarborough) and Mika this morning on MSNBC. I'm no fan of either Joe or Mika. But I must give credit where credit is due. Joe went in hard on the Repubs for their performance yesterday. And he kept tearing into them for a good portion of his show.
With Florida Republican Rep. Ileana Ros-Lehtinen being the only notable exception (her questions were directly related to Russia's meddling in our election), the other Repubs stuck to their ridicules script of focusing solely on "the leaks."
Joe offered up this possible reason for why the Repus seemed stuck-on-stupid yesterday. They were not prepared at all for Comey to go as far as he did in admitting that Trump and the Trump campaign have been under federal investigation since last July for possible collusion and coordinating with Russia to interfere in our presidential election. Repubs had arrived at the hearing having agreed on One strategy and THAT was the only playbook they had.
Whether Trump and his surrogates actively colluded with Russia OR were simply dupes who played right into Putin's hands? Hopefully the investigation will give us a clear answer in due time.
One things is for certain. Putin and the Russian Intelligence community have to be proud of what they were able to do to Us.
