Coronavirus Confusion Sweeps The Country
The coronavirus is enough to deal with all by itself. However, coronavirus confusion and the anxiety that comes with it is beginning to be almost as much of a nuisance as the virus itself.
Current Events
With people around the world already feeling the effects of cabin fever from self or government-mandated quarantines, it’s not difficult for bad rumors and outright falsehoods to make their way across the globe via social media and general word of mouth. False claims such as “Hold your breath for 10 seconds and if you don’t cough, you don’t have the virus,” or “drink lots of water to flush the virus out of your throat” are just 2 examples of the coronavirus confusion that has Americans and others looking for any glimmer of hope to believe.
However, coronavirus confusion is not only emanating from average, everyday citizens, but from those in powers of position we selected to lead us through dark times. Let’s take a look at some of the disorder involving the coronavirus.

DONALD TRUMP
If confusion could be rewarded then Donald Trump would be crowned king. Yes, the orange man in the Oval Office has continued to prove just how ill-prepared he was for such a pandemic and how overwhelmed he is on how to handle it.
For weeks, Trump claimed the now-deadly pandemic was nothing more than a “hoax” concocted by the Democrats in order to ruin his hopes of reelection. Then, when he gave in and gave an address from the Oval Office in an attempt to at least appear to be serious about the virus, ‘The Donald’ rattled off so many untruths and outright lies that his handlers had to come behind him like a horse in order to clean up the mess.
Since then, Trump has been locked in some weird, alternate-reality, repeatedly claiming “It’s under tremendous control. People should relax.” Well, people took him at his word and did relax — by crowding bars and restaurants over the weekend as if the coronavirus were nothing more than a brief rainstorm that had already blown over.
But it was much bigger than that and so, Trump began to trust his medical officials and allow them to do more of the talking.
Then on Monday, Trump became emboldened to once again appear before the mics — and it was then he announced that the national shut down of everything and stoppage of work for everyone is likely to last until July or even August.
Almost immediately, the stock market dropped 3,000 points, its largest freefall in history!
By the time White House medical advisor Dr. Anthony Fauci could correct ‘The Donald’ and say that he misspoke, the damage was already done.
The King of coronavirus confusion had struck again!

ELECTION
Tuesday is another Democratic Primary day, as voters in Arizona, Florida, Illinois, and Ohio are scheduled to cast their ballots for Joe Biden or Bernie Sanders. However, in light of the recent CDC guideline recommending no gatherings of 50 or more people, Gov. Mike DeWine of Ohio realized his state could not conduct an election with less than 50 people in a room and declared the election postponed to some later date.
“During this time when we face an unprecedented public health crisis, to conduct an election tomorrow would force poll workers and voters to place themselves at an unacceptable health risk of contracting coronavirus,” Gov. DeWine said in a statement. “It is clear that tomorrow’s in-person voting does not conform, and cannot conform with these CDC guidelines. We cannot conduct this election tomorrow, the in-person voting for 13 hours tomorrow, and conform to these guidelines,” he added while joining Louisiana, Georgia, and Kentucky as states with postponed primary elections.
Following his pleas, a court overruled the GOP governor’s desire to change the election to June (amid claims that Donald Trump hopes to postpone the entire election process so that he can hold onto power much longer).
Coronavirus confusion left voters in limbo, wondering if they should or shouldn’t head to the polls on Tuesday. However, in the 11th hour, Ohio Department of Health Director Dr. Amy Acton ordered polls closed as part of the current health emergency and the court decision was overturned.

CYBER-SECURITY
The Department of Health and Human Services announced that on Sunday night, it experienced suspicious cyberactivity related to its coronavirus response.
Officials were confused and did not know if they were the victim of an actual hack or a DDOS (distributed denial of service) attack. Although their systems were not significantly affected, officials admit they are unclear if foreign actors may have attempted to exploit the COVID-19 crisis in order to achieve some anti-American goals — and if they may try again.
The fact that officials have acknowledged coronavirus confusion and that they don’t know the who, what, or why this occurred is more than concerning.
