Coronavirus Relief Bill / Trump Secret Scheme Is A Sham!

- $500 billion secret slush fund found hidden in relief bill

Spread The Love

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell and the Republicans are blaming Democrats after the $2 trillion dollar Coronavirus Relief Bill failed to pass in the US Senate.  Here’s the REAL story of what’s really going on behind the scenes and why their claims are a bunch of BS!

Top News Today
The Coronavirus Relief Bill was designed to put cash directly into the hands of the American people while also helping to stimulate the economy.  Granted, both issues are addressed in the bill.  However, buried deep inside the legal language of the bill is a secretive clause that Democrats smartly caught and refused to support.

Coronavirus Relief Bill
Trump with Treasury Secretary Steve Mnuchin

.
Found 100+ pages inside the Coronavirus Relief Bill was a Trump/GOP-mandated clause allowing for a $500 billion dollar, no strings attached slush fund, which would allow Treasury Secretary Steve Mnuchin to write a blank check to any business Donald Trump desires.  What’s worse is that Mnuchin would not have to tell Congress or the American people which businesses he wrote checks to, how much the checks were for, or that he even wrote a check at all for up to SIX MONTHS!  Further, for anyone to even get this information disclosed they would have to file a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request just to learn the base details.  Oh, and that FOIA request could then be denied by Trump under a claim of executive privilege.

Is your mind blown yet?  Keep reading.

On Monday evening, Trump MC’d his daily press conference to discuss the latest coronavirus updates.  During that event, Trump shocked everyone by announcing that he’s strongly considering ignoring the pleas of his medical professionals by lifting the business shutdowns and social-distancing within a few days so that we can all get back to regular life in order to stimulate the economy.  According to Trump, “Our country wasn’t meant to be shut down.”  He then justified his own opinion by adding “The coronavirus cure cannot be worse than the problem itself.”

Coronavirus Relief Bill
Surgeon General Dr. Jerome Adams

A reporter then asked ‘The Donald’ a very valid question:  Why have a $2 trillion dollar relief package if you’re going to reopen the economy in a week?

The question was a good one, particularly since Surgeon General Dr. Jerome Adams said earlier in the day about the virus: “This week, it’s going to get bad,”  then added that people MUST stay home in order to prevent the pandemic from worsening, which was in direct contradiction to what Donald Trump would say only a few hours later.

The fact that Trump couldn’t/wouldn’t really answer the question was all-telling.

Still, inquiring minds want to know why Donald Trump would press for a $2 trillion dollar Coronavirus Relief Bill that includes a secret $500 billion dollar business “slush fund” controlled by him, only to reopen all businesses and put an end to all quarantines — a move that his own medical professionals warn would put the public at grave risk and likely kill millions??

Well, here’s the answer.  Like with anything, it’s all about what can best benefit Donald Trump!

Trump has realized that the coronavirus, a collapsed economy, and a tanked stock market is a death sentence for his reelection hopes.  So, he and his cronies have concocted a way to fix conditions to benefit Trump and his rich donors.

Coronavirus Relief Bill

.
The Coronavirus Relief Bill was not created because Trump actually cares about saving American lives from financial ruin.  NO!  The bill was created so that Trump could have a secret stash of $500 billion dollars to give any business he chooses, including Trump Hotels.  Additionally, Trump could dangle this money to business leaders willing to do his bidding and/or donate to his reelection campaign.  For example, Trump could tell a business executive that if they donate $5 million to his campaign, he would give them back $50 million in relief funds.  Or, in other words, Trump would be giving $45 million in relief funds to a business while simultaneously pocketing $5 million for himself.

Under this scheme, Trump, who has already raised half a billion dollars for his 2020 campaign fund, would be able to use the current health crisis to his advantage in order to raise an unprecedented amount of cash for his reelection, not to mention his hotels.

.

As an extra incentive from Trump, businesses would be able to fire employees while also keeping all of the relief money they are given.  Also, they would only have to wait 2 years before being funneling the funds to their executives for some hefty raises.

Remember, the slush fund would be able to operate in total secrecy for up to 6 months and would have virtually no restraints.  It would all be controlled at the discretion of Steve Mnuchin — who would be taking his marching orders directly from Donald Trump himself.

Trump knows that if he takes the draconian steps his medical professionals are urging him to take, the economy will likely fall into a depression and his hopes of being reelected (and avoiding legal trials from the NY District Court and possible jail time) would be dead.  However, if he lifts the business closures and ends social-distancing, we could see millions of deaths and the worst pandemic in American history.

What will he do?  What’s in his own best interest, of course.

Coronavirus Relief Bill

So, if you’re wondering why the Coronavirus Relief Bill was blocked and held up on Sunday and Monday, don’t blame the Democrats.  In fact, you may want to cheer them.  They took the time to actually read the bill and put an abrupt stop to the corruption inside of it that Trump and the Republicans were hoping to sneak by the public.

Stay woke, folks!

Great detailed summary DJ.! All of your points are spot-on and you last paragraph nailed it.

Yes indeed. The Dems really stepped up and did their job this time. This should mean that the final bill will actually include the necessary improvements.

We shall see.

‘Negotiators expect deal Tuesday on massive coronavirus emergency package’

Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer and Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin are expected to announce a bipartisan agreement Tuesday on a nearly $2 trillion emergency stimulus package to confront the economic impacts of the coronavirus pandemic.

But as those negotiations were continuing late into the night on Monday, President Donald Trump was sending mixed signals over whether he would ultimately support the imminent deal — even as both sides projected confidence amid heated partisan sniping on the Senate floor. To borrow a thought from a reader on another site: “elect a clown, you get a circus.”

I pray the majority of the American people who vote now SEE the disastrous folly in allowing ANY “clown” to be in a position to get even anywhere close to the White House.

Mr.BD

I agree with Truth every point spot on. Trump is nothing but a crook so it does not surprise me he tried to slip something in that bill so he could profit and his buddies could profit. Thanks to the Democrats they go thatt shut down. Now about him ready to tell people go back to work and stop social distancing this fool is mentally insane. That is going to kill people. This virus is real and if he does that it shows all he cares about is money and himself. Lord I cannot wait to get this fool out of there.

Mr.BD

I forgot to say one reason this clown is thinking about opening everything back is his ego. He misses those rallies and getting his ego stroked.

Truthiz1

You got that right BD. The guy needs it (his ego stroked) like a drug addict needs his next hit.

And the fact that his businesses are losing even more $$$ than usual is also stinging his sorry-azz.

Mr.BD

I forgot about his businesses losing money. Plus they shut down Mar a largo last week too. I just read Trump is listening to Jared Kushner now and not Dr. Fauci anymore.

Protecting Life Is More Important Than ‘The Economy’

The “wartime” president already wants to surrender:

Trump began talking privately late last week about reopening the nation, despite the swiftly rising number of coronavirus cases and against the advice of health professionals, because he’s worried about the economic damage from an extended shutdown, according to people familiar with his thinking.

The government has the means to lessen the severity of economic contraction through its own spending to support workers and businesses through this shutdown, but it cannot raise victims of the outbreak from the dead. Putting “the economy” ahead of protecting the lives of Americans who are most at risk of serious illness and death is an awful idea, and it has to be rejected. Lol…”wartime” president…smh! I still can’t get over that one.

TAC Reader:
I’m all for the lockdown now to help reduce hospital overflow and stem the spread, but seriously. If this goes on for more than a couple months we’re looking at societal collapse. We’re going to be looking at mortgage defaults upwards of 40%. Mass homelessness in a pandemic. WAY way more than the amount dead if we just let the virus burn through the population.

The best thing is to lock down for a month, then protect the vulnerable and get people back to work and protect jobs. Unemployment is already nearing 30%. This is unprecedented. The worse case if we overextend the lockdown isn’t like 2008, it’s like Venezuela. […]

Jason

I don’t think Trump is mentally ill. I think this is more-or-less the bottom line. The cost of shutting down the economy for longer than a month or two is substantially more than the cost of letting the hospitals and the healthcare system getting overwhelmed and overrun. The reason why the stock market is precipitously dropping every day and the Fed is going all-in is because things are much, much worse than they are revealing to us. They must have crunched the numbers, and the states cannot afford the future unemployment payments, the pension funds cannot afford the market to crash 70-90%, the federal government cannot afford to bet more than than a $2T stimulus (10% of the economy). In every war, there are casualties. I believe that Trump has decided to sacrifice the elderly and the healthcare workers in this war. He royally f*cked up containment and mitigation measures… Read more »

Hi Jason,

Except for this: “I don’t think Trump is mentally ill.” Your points are well made, especially this:

“He royally f*cked up containment and mitigation measures are failing;”

Trump is a flaming headcase (lives in his own reality) but sadly that may be the least threat he poses to our country and to the health, safety and well-being of all Americans.
