CRAIGSLIST CENSORED
Were you looking for a little more than a barbecue this past Labor Day holiday and thought you’d pull up the Adult Erotic section on Craigslist for a little looksee? Well, sorry — it’s been CENSORED!
With 17 State Attorneys General targeting the site for their blatant listing of sexual services and prostitution, the site was finally forced to shut down the illicit solicitation of sex for cash via their website. Some know of craigslist as a site to find an apartment or buy/sell a TV or some other household item. But few were aware that craigslist has been flying under the radar for years with a section on their site that literally listed thousands of posts offering sexual favors for pay.
CNN recently did an expose where they caught up with craigslist founder Craig Newmark and asked him on camera about the sex for sale section of the site. Newmark was so caught off guard by the question and so nervous about how to respond, that he stared blankly at the reporter for several seconds before walking away in fear.
As of this weekend, visitors to the site no longer found an EROTIC link to click. Instead, it has been replaced with a black bar that simply reads CENSORED.
