I agree that the term “death cleaning” is not very pleasant. However, that’s the clunky translation of the word döstädning from Swedish to English and is what everyone (including the television show producers) opted to stick with in the end.

In fact, I have tried it a few times but get easily sidetracked each time and that was that.

It never seems that pressing to me because I’m not a hoarder so there really isn’t that much for me to get rid of. But I do need to make sure that my important papers are in order.
