Debate Turns Comedic For GOP
A Republican debate is usually a comedy of errors. However, nothing could likely top what happened during the GOP talk fest on Saturday.

Hosted by ABC News, moderators David Muir and Martha Raddatz began the debate by introducing the candidates. When Gov. Chris Christie was announced first, his supporters in attendance went wild. However, the applause was so loud that Dr. Ben Carson didn’t hear his own name when he was introduced next. So he simply stood in the wings and waited to hear his name — which didn’t happen.
Assuming he had been called, Dr. Carson started heading toward the stage, but stopped short when the moderators announced Ted Cruz next, who entered the stage to his own round of raucous applause from supporters. However, when Donald Trump was announced next, he too didn’t hear his own name.
Now Carson and Trump both stood awkwardly in the wings in somewhat of a traffic jam, waiting for their names to be called. Hilariously, Jeb Bush was announced next and breezed right by Trump, in what SNL later joked “would be the only time Bush would pass Trump.”
More names were called and, with several podiums still empty, the announcers continued with their script, unbeknownst to what was going on. “Ladies and gentlemen, the Republican candidates,” Raddatz said. Eventually realizing the error, Ben Carson was finally recognized. “And Dr. Ben Carson, please come out on the stage,” Muir said, as the neurosurgeon made a lukewarm entrance. Then, Trump was given a second call. “And lastly, we welcome back to the debate stage, Donald Trump,” Muir said. However, the term “lastly” was yet another error, as there was still one more candidate remaining.
“What about Kasich?” Marco Rubio asked the moderators. Stumbling, Muir said “Yes, yes…we are going to introduce Kasich,” as the governor made his way to the stage and the festivities began.
It was a slapstick beginning to what turned out to be a rather engaging Republican debate.

Lol….smh. I heard about this (and Chris Christie's smack-down of Rubio) and then saw video-clips. Too funny…lol Re; The entrance muck-ups Clearly the moderators were to blame. But specifically in the case of Carson, it fed into a growing perception that he's pretty much a Clueless candidate and should just end his presidential campaign and go home. . Re: Rubio's repeated response to Christie's attacks Clearly Rubio is out of his depth as well. Simply put – there is NO there…there. Poor fella is, IMO, little more than a neoCON puppet. He lacks the ability THINK for himself when taking incoming fire. He sticks to his scripted answers Over and Over and Over again. The news media is making a big deal of it. His opponents are making a big deal of it. However, because rank-and-file Repub voters eat that crap up like it's candy (repeatedly bashing Pres. Obama) I… Read more »
