Delta PLUS Variant Is The Latest COVID Threat!

Spread The Love

Just when you were getting comfortable with going back to a normal way of life while keeping an eye on the deadly Delta variant, now comes a new threat: Delta PLUS.

Current Events
Officials in India, as well as the South Korean Disease Control and Prevention Agency, announced they have recorded multiple cases of the new coronavirus Delta PLUS variant, which experts believe to be more transmissible and even more dangerous than the original Delta variant. First identified in Europe in March, the Delta PLUS variant (or B. 1.617.2.1 or AY.1) has since been detected in several countries, including India, the United Kingdom, and the United States.

“We’ve got to be more willing to consider observations made in other countries dealing with [the coronavirus],” James E.K. Hildreth, president and chief executive of Meharry Medical College said regarding the relative of the highly contagious Delta variant. “Again, we saw what happen with Delta in India and how quickly it spread … Why would we think the Delta PLUS variant would be different?”

“We must remain watchful, new variants in particular, notably the Delta variant, mean we must be cautious,” German Chancellor Angela Merkel said in a government statement regarding news of the mutating virus.

Richard Novak, head of the Division of Infectious Diseases at the University of Illinois, noted that the new Delta PLUS variant is coming at a time when breakthrough cases are popping up among those who have already been vaccinated.

“All viruses want to do is reproduce themselves. The ones that do become the dominant virus,” he said. “We’re going to see other variants. It’s on a continuum. The variants are likely to get more efficient as time goes on.”

Delta Plus

The discovery of the new Delta PLUS variant is confirmation of an opinion from several UK scientists that the original coronavirus will likely continue to mutate forever and reinvent itself until it “leads to current vaccine failure.”  It also validates a recent statement from viral expert Dr. Anthony Fauci that we should prepare ourselves for the reality that COVID is permanent and here to stay.

With the US averaging more than 100,000 new COVID cases per day for the first time since February, the CDC is meeting this week to discuss the possibility of a booster shot for already vaccinated Americans.

Thanks DJ for keeping Us (your readers) informed.

Wish I could say I’m surprised by this very bad news but sadly, I’m not.

I remember last year, speaking with my PCP during a virtual med visit at the beginning of the shutdown here in America and pretty much around the world. I shared with him my hunch that we’re dealing with a virus that was manipulated by man to become a deadly Intelligent bioweapon. A “thinking” virus (if you will) with the ability to quickly adapt to possible vaccines and become an even more deadly virus with each evolution.

My doctor predicted we’re probably going to be dealing with Covid/and Covid variants “for quite some years to come.”

Sadly, I think we’re both right.

(on a side-note)…….

I’ve been worried about my mate because frankly, she’s been even more resistant to getting the vaccine than I was. And we’ve butt heads about it a few times. But we always kept it civil.

Well it seems the Delta variant surging in Texas has finally got her spooked enough to get the vaccine. She’s scheduled to receive her first shot this Thursday.

I pray she keeps her appointment.

Florida Sentinel:
The Delta variant of the coronavirus is fueling an ongoing COVID wave in Florida, but health experts now are keeping a wary eye on a mutation that has surfaced in the state: Delta Plus.
The Florida Department of Health has detected 18 cases of Delta Plus, according to their latest report on Aug. 6. Delta plus is not the dominant strain in the state but has been found in at least three people who have been hospitalized.
American researchers say it’s too soon to know if this new mutation is worse than Delta in terms of spreading faster and making people sicker. Already, the Delta variant is considered more contagious and can cause more severe illness than previous strains in unvaccinated people.

Mr.BD

They have the Delta, I heard something about a Lambda. Now they have the Plus. This virus is never going away. We are going to have another shut down with the rate things are going. It seems like there is no way around it.
