She killed it last night. Biden and Sanders could not hold a candle to her. I am interested to see how talk shifts going forward because all the people we thought were front runner got pushed back last night.

He has been laying in the cut and people been sleeping on him. Then he comes out swinging last night like nobody expected. He definitely got my attention. Warren did pretty good too but everybody knew she would. After last night I like Booker some more than I did. Regarding the others they were not any factor. I did not like Deblasio at all. And Beto looked confused like a deer in headlights. I think he drops out first. Tonight should be good though.

Excerpt:
My guess is that Wednesday night’s event will have limited political consequence and that most of its participants won’t see a remarkable rise or dip in their fortunes. They simply couldn’t claim enough space in this thicket. They were trees that couldn’t be seen for the forest

While many of them had moments — Tulsi Gabbard trumpeting her isolationism, John Delaney explaining and selling his centrism, Jay Inslee naming President Trump as the greatest threat to our national security — they were just that: moments. They flared suddenly and faded quickly, so that someone luminous in one 15-minute stretch went utterly dark in the next. Warren almost blinked out after the hour mark, but her strong opening lingered nonetheless, and she closed flawlessly.

Only a few candidates besides her probably did themselves real harm or good. Beto O’Rourke had an unequivocally bad night, all the more so because it played to existing concerns that he’s a lightweight.

In an exchange with Julian Castro over a section of text in immigration law, Castro came across as the one who felt the issue more deeply and had thought about it more exhaustively. […] – NYTimes, June 27, 2019

Just took a quick drive-by to 2 popular right-wing sites to get an idea of how they viewed the debate

Redstate listed the winners: Julian Castro, Tulsi Gabbard, Elizabeth Warren – in that order.

National Review attempts to play games: “Booker and Castro Thrive.” And “Beto and Warren crashes”

Re: the first half

I agree with DJ…too many candidates on stage and too much talking over each other. Honestly, I really don’t know why most of them are running(?) They’ve got zero chance of winning the primary let alone the presidency. But I digress.

I gave the first half an overall grade of: B

And for me it was no contest. Elizabeth Warren owned the stage and won the debate. From what I’m hearing this morning concerning the 2nd half….Warren pretty much stood back and let the others try to outdo each other.

I found Warren to be the most impressive candidate with Julian Castro coming in 2nd place.
