Democrats Prepped For A
Happy New Year!
It looks like 2016 is primed to be a great year for Democrats. With Donald Trump still solidly in front of his Republican challengers and headed toward either capturing the GOP nomination for president or a “knock-down-drag-out” fight on the convention floor, Hillary Clinton and the Democrats have plenty of reasons to celebrate this new year!

The Republican Party is loaded with a roster of misfits running for president. The star clown in the GOP’s 3 ring circus is Donald Trump, followed by the over-the-top blowhard Ted Cruz and the sleep-inducing Ben Carson. Although each of these men play strong to their Republican base, they would fall flat on their face in a general election. Interestingly, Republican leaders know it and are helpless to do anything about it.
The GOP built a party of competing and ill-fitting factions, including ultra-conservatives, religious zealots, gun-toters, racists, misogynists and more. The GOP has also provided each of these factions with tons of red meat to chew on over the years, stirring their emotions up with promises to “Take our country back” and “Get that Muslim out of our White House.” Well, it’s judgment day and these groups are ready to cash in their chips. Except, Republicans now want to tone down the rhetoric, pretend it’s not really there and hope all these competing factions will miraculously get behind a more “establishment” GOP candidate. Good luck with that!
Republicans are trapped between a rock and a hard place. They’ve set themselves up for failure by forcibly signing a pledge to support WHOEVER the GOP nominee is… NO MATTER WHO it is. So, if Donald Trump continues to play to the lowest common denominator of the Republican Party, the other members can’t magically turn their backs on him just because he brings out the worst of the party and is in the lead. They HAVE to support him or else they will look like hypocrites.
This is where Hillary and the Democrats are giddy with delight. Republicans have oddly backed themselves into a corner with a poorly constructed game plan that once looked good on paper but now appears near certain to fail. Meanwhile, Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders are in a civilized 2 person race for the nomination, void of infighting or drama. In fact, the Democrats are hoarding money and other valuable resources, while coasting toward the general election.
With Hillary Clinton pulling ahead of Bernie Sanders in recent polls, it appears to be Hillary’s nomination to lose. Add a strong running mate to the mix like Housing and Urban Development Cabinet Secretary Julian Castro and the Democrats suddenly have a winning formula.
Imagine America’s first female president in Hillary Clinton, combined with its first Hispanic vice-president in Julian Castro. Then, put the history making ticket of Clinton-Castro up against either Trump, Cruz, or Carson in a general election. Would the Republican Party’s ultra-conservatives, religious zealots, gun-toters, racists and misogynists really stand a chance?
No wonder Democrats are smiling at the dawn of 2016!

Though I caution Dems…especially Hillary…do NOT get cocky or complacent. As Hillary should know by now, the presidential election AIN'T over….till it's over.
This country can't afford for ANY Dems running for their respective offices to take ANY votes for granted. Not.One. – no matter how absolutely Horrific Repub candidates are.
